shuuuuuuuush, I can't hear you, these things DO NOT HAPPEN, not at all, my baby is going to be small and cute and nowhere near the size of a 1 year old!!!!!!!
Well I actually slept last night, well i say slept, I dreamt constantly and woke up for the loo a couple of times and woke up to turn over loads of times but I was pretty much asleep from 1-7 which for me is good, sorry for all of you that arent sleeping.
Well I've been good today and have just put a load of ingredients in the slow cooker to make myelf some muligatawny soup, have never made it before but just sort of shoved everything in, I hope its nice, we shall know at lunch time!, Think I'm going to do a wash today, weather looks good enough for stuff to go on the line.
Going to do that then have a cuppa then get on with my assignment, really can't be bothered with it but ho hum.0 -
I would go with nuts and dried fruit, cereal bars, then biscuits, Jaffa cakes, crisps, and some sweets. (Which is what DH takes as his leave at work box. He then grabs a bag of oranges/bananas weekly and makes sandwiches daily). Does your hospital have a canteen? DH already has plans to visit as they do allday breakfast and I don't like the smell of bacon.
When I was my sisters birthing partner, I didn't feel that hungry, we didn't have anything packed (didn't even think about it) I bought two boxed sandwiches for the 16 hours, I think I was too hyper/worried to eat. I would have loved bottled water as I'm not keen on tap water. Maybe UHT style orange juice?:ANeeding to save all the money, lots of MSE learning still to do

Thanks Carmilla, the shop at our hospital closes at midnight, so I was thinking for through the night. I think we might end up taking a flask of coffee which I will obviously need to make up before we go, plus some bottles of water. Will pack some crisps, cereal bars his fave biscuits, and dried apricots.0

Hadnt really thought too much about food for the hospital bag up til now.
MW at babyclass said to pack sweets for "ready energy" and ceral bars as they are more slow release.
Tea/Coffee isnt a problem at ours whatever time of the day as they have those little ready made cups of kenco, tea and hot choc on the ward that just need hot water adding to. I got one after my GTT. :-)
I also spyed a well stocked vending machine in the lobby outside labour ward and know there is one in A&E next door so will be making sure i have a purse full of change in the hospital bag. :-):jProud mummy to a beautiful baby girl born 22/12/11 :j0 -
with my last daughter i started saving 20 and 50p's from about 25 weeks in a little jar, the intention was to put them in a purse in my hospital bag for the vending machine etc. it didnt work out like that because i didnt even take my hospital bag in the end and had her at 31 weeks. but the intention was there, i think i will do the same with this one.0

Dr's vary about what they will let you eat, some say fine, some say light things only, some say nowt, but fact is you will need the energy! Cereal bars are good, but for you i would say try and get some glucose tablets from the chemists, incase they say no food for you, as they are at least energy. Bananas are good as well. Little cartons of fruit juice for both of you are good too. I have read some people recommending putting half the cartons in the freezer, so you can have something cold on the hot labour ward!Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!
