I seem to wake up at 6-6.30 and not be able to get back to sleep, it doesn't matter what time I go to bed! Felt really grotty on Saturday after going to a concert, didn't get home until midnight so I was pretty tired after that! The concert was amazing though, and well worth it
Spent most of the weekend decanting our house into the conservatory ready for all new carpets, it will be so lovely when it's all finished in a few days time - only taken us 6 months to get it looking decent.
Can anyone give me some points about where I go to look at funding available for childcare? I'm only taking 2 months off as we can't afford to do otherwise, and DH has just been offered a 1 year studentship for MPhil... so there goes our plans for him to be a househusband, though I'm really pleased for him. Problem is his take-home will be about £250 a month, so it won't even come close to paying nursary fees. Will places even take babies at 6-8 weeks old????0 -
Not sure about the funding side of things Bluebell, but the 3 local nurseries I've been to have said they take babies from 3 months. Have you looked into Childminders?:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

hey bluebell, Im afraid I cant help on the funding side either, I'd like to know how you go about claiming your family allowance though, im sure someone will be along shortly who knows. I don't think nurseries take very new babies either, not really sure what to suggest I'm afraid. Can you not make the money up with tax credits or topup type things?
Well I started to clean the spare room, did an hour and was knackered!! God hefting this huge baby around is really taking its toll, have just settled down for some lunch0 -
i went to the midwifes this morning and i am measuring big. i am 32 weeks and my bump is measuring 35cm and she said it should be 31cm so it is quite a bit bigger in her words. also i am recess (sorry probably spelt wrong) negitive so had to have a jab. i dont really understand why but she said my body could fight against baby! dont like the sound of that! i feel a bit like a failure how can my body be against my babies made me feel very sad:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heart

Can I just pick your brains regarding bedding for baby? This is one area I'm not sure about and haven't bought much yet! I have a moses basket and have bought some bottom sheets but nothing to cover baby up with! I don't want a sleeping bag until baby is 3 months plus, but having a Feb baby its obviously going to be quite chilly! I think baby will sleep in a sleepsuit and hat, is it just a case of layering blankets on top? Should I get knitted, or fleece or cotton?
What is everybody else using?
I'm also trying to work out what bedding to use for my newborn in Feb. Was looking at a swaddling blanket with velcro fastening, but then not sure if I need to layer over it..............DFD February 2012

dont worry hun Im measuring big and everyone said it could be due to a growth spurt.
and dont think of it like that, your body is making a beautiful baby all by itself, that in itself is magical regardless of anything else.
absolutely gorgeous toniq, im in the middle of knitting a little hat
mozzy Ive got 2 cellular blankets folded over in the crib so should be warm enough, I have fleece blankets for the carseat etc.0 -

My little boy was born in a September and to start with he slept in a sleepsuit and a hat and I covered him over with a cotton blanket. For the first fews days he was home I used a shortsleve body suit under the sleepsuit aswell but was tolds by midwife this was too many layers and better to be a little cool then too hot on a night. He was quite a big baby and after about a month I started putting him in a sleeping bag and have used them since. Before he was born I didn't have a clue and stocked up on flat sheets (as well as the fitted sheets I used) and celluar blankets but never ended up using them. With this baby I'll most likely used a cotton blanket again on a night then move onto sleepbags (think a baby needs to be a minimum weight before going in them).0
