Sorry for the TMI but does anybody else suffer from constipation? I go a few days without needing the loo and then end up with stomach pains, the pains always go after I've been to the loo! Also I'm constantly worried about movement and what's normal, last night I didn't feel that much movement, the night before I felt lots! I'll worry now all day until baby starts kicking me again. This being pregnant is a constant worry!
Hi JanineI suffer with constipation too and find some dried apricots or prunes helps to clear the system :rotfl:
Winnie_in_Pooh wrote: »Womble - re: the arnica, I had the 6c tablets and was told to take them either 3 days prior to the birth OR to take 6 doses in one day to get it into my system. I'm not sure how the advice would differ for the 30c tablets - maybe give your homeopath a bell to check? I took the 6 doses in one day on the day he arrived and it really has made a lot of difference so its definitely worth taking. I was also told to avoid anything with peppermint and to only take them on an empty stomach so I took them overnight instead of during the day so I didn't get hungry!
I've got the 30c tablets arnica, but how do you know 3 days before you go into labour? I could be guessing for 2 weeks.
Also does anyone know what strength Raspberry Leaf Tea Capsules to get. I went to my local health food shop today and they had different strengths. Obviously the strength you get will impact on how many capsules you need to take. I don't think the supplement list on the first page is very helpful at all. It is very unclearBlue_Monkey wrote: »My legs have got massive and have LOADS of celluliteNot good.

i have added some more info to the supplements list that is provided. I love google!
Pregnancy supplements.
Calcium, also available in prenatal vitamins, helps keep bones and teeth strong for mum and baby.
• Calcium helps the nervous, muscular and circulatory systems stay healthy.
• When a pregnant woman doesn't get enough calcium from her diet, the body takes the calcium from her bones to give it to her growing baby.
• Having less calcium in the bones can cause serious health conditions later in life, such as osteoporosis. In osteoporosis, the bones thin, and the person is at increased risk of bone breaks.
32wks onwards: 1000mg per day
At onset of Labour: 1000mg
Evening Primrose Oil (EPO) Evening primrose oil is an excellent source of prostaglandins, which we already determined readies your cervix for labour. It can be taken orally as soon as 34 weeks, and can be applied directly to the cervix at full term (36 weeks). The general recommendation is two 500mg capsules per day until week 38, at which time you increase to 3-4 per day. The entire capsule can be inserted vaginally (inserted just before bed, it will dissolve before the first time you wake to use the bathroom), or you can use the oil on your fingers for your perineal massage, then also rub on your cervix (assuming you can reach it). Applying directly to the cervix is optimal, but the beneficial ingredients are absorbed through the external skin or the stomach also.
34-37wks: 1-2 500mg capsule
38-40wks: 34 500mg capsule
Insert 1 capsule each night during week 38
Raspberry Leaf Tea (RLT) Red raspberry leaf tea is a uterine tonic used by Native Americans for thousands of years. It tones your uterus by helping to "focus" your Braxton Hicks contractions. Think of its job as helping your uterus do more effective exercising while you are pregnant. It does not "cause" contractions and can be safely used throughout pregnancy. It is contraindicated for those having complications "just in case", however, by most doctors who do not understand its use. Many women safely use it from the moment they learn they are pregnant at six weeks until months after delivery. (It helps to tone the uterus after delivery as well, shrinking it back to size more quickly and reducing bleeding.)
32-34wks: 1 cup (or 1 tablet) per day
34-36wks: 2 cups (or 2 tablets) per day
36-38wks: 3 cups (or 3 tablets) per day
38-40wks: 4 cups (or 4 tablets) per day
Arnica Tablets Arnica is now very popular and is very helpful when there is bruising, muscular damage, or inflammation.
It does seem to speed up recovery after delivery.
The different products available differ to some extent in their strength;
• The most widely available forms of arnica that can be bought over the counter are 6C and these should be taken according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
• When a qualified homeopath prescribes arnica they usually prescribe 30C strength and advise that it is taken twice daily.
It can be started after birth or a few days before the due date, and is usually continued for around 10 days.
Arnica has been taken for many years by large numbers of breastfeeding mothers and there are not considered to be any risks associated with it's use in this way.
The dose taken is so small that even if it did get into the breast milk the level would be tiny.
3 days before: 2 30c tablets 3 times a day
Onset of Labour: 2 30c tablets every 2 hours (upto 6 doses)
After Labour (upto 5 days after): 2 30c tablets 3 times a day:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heartProven to be a little fighter and battling on with her heart condition :j
