my DH's version of making dinner is making dinner happen, even then he needs detailed instruction, go to menu, choose food, make sure you have money, phone the number (dont be funny on the phone they think your being an !!!) tell them what you want, ask for discount, wait for food to arrive0

Jenjade - thanks a mil for the nappy pack instructions, I'll get on the case tomorrow! It was really kind of you to write all that out!
WW - I keep having people telling me I look small for how far along I am... It's making me a bit para. Midwife said on Friday that I was measuring 30cm, but think there is a growth spurt happening today, as I'm sure it's got bigger as the day's gone on. PS. I don't like pastel colours either, so on the lookout for bold and bright stuff!
Missy - I'm glad you noticed it'd been quiet on here too!
I'm really tired after my 6am conference call then trekking into London... I think I need to change the day I go into the office to a day when I don't have calls at stupid o'clock...
Baby brain is in full effect here, and I'm getting myself all confuzzled about what my baby will wear. For example - I've seen these nice little bodysuits: http://www.marksandspencer.com/Pack-Cotton-Sleeve-Assorted-Bodysuits/dp/B004TYV4BM?ie=UTF8&ref=sr_1_12&nodeId=326234031&sr=1-12&qid=1319056370&pf_rd_r=07457VG32J8GQTX0HN1K&pf_rd_m=A2BO0OYVBKIQJM&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_i=326234031&pf_rd_p=215570647&pf_rd_s=related-items-3 but what else would baby wear with them? Would I put a long-sleeved plain white vest suit thing underneath them and then some little jogger bottoms on top with some socks? Or would these act as vests themselves and I'd put something over them instead? Is short-sleeved a really bad idea for winter?
Today is not a good day for making decisions. We need a new duvet and I don't know whether we should go for fibre or feather. I like to stay cool at night (I'm sure the last time we were in the UK for winter we slept with a 4.5 tog the whole time), so need to get the right one otherwise I get too hot in the night and turn into a right madam. Plus some are very expensive. We need new saucepans, can't decide which ones. We need new cushions and a coffee table for the lounge, no idea where to start. We bought an Ikea cot duvey at the weekend, but realised the lable says age 1+ so not sure what to do about that. I'm so indecisive and unsure about bloody everything at the mo!
I'm starting to panic that we've still got loads to do/get and there's not that much time left when you really think about it. I think I'm going to do a bootsale on Sunday and have told OH that I want the new flat sorted by the end of the month giving us this weekend and next to have it all done. Then I really can start to wind-down in November, both at home and work and then when my mat leave starts on the 24th I can just laze about til my little heart is content in a lovely sparkly, tidy, clutter-free, crap-free flat0 -
sounds like you've got a good plan BM, I've been really indecisive about everything at the moment, everything seems like a bit too much to think about.
Am yawning my head off as Ive been up since 04.30 but guaranteed if I try to sleep i wont be able to, might give it a go though, so Ill say n'nights and might pop back on shortly if I cant sleep.

Exactly the same here, hoping feel a bit better tomorrow for the jab. Mentioned the jab to DS who is at a very inquisitive stage, and we ended up having a 15 min conversation about immunisations, childhood diseases, good germs/bad germs and all sorts of other random stuff! Good practice for my teaching though I suppose, having to explain all this grown up stuff to a 7 year old!
BM - I use the bodysuits (short or no sleeves, no legs) underneath sleepsuits (long arms and legs) as an extra layer. Mind you, I haven't got any 'proper' clothes in any size up to 3-6m as I intend to just go for body and sleepsuits until then for warmth, comfort and ease. Jeans/dresses/jumpers etc look cute, but are a pain to get on and off when they are so tiny and covered in a variety of bodily fluids!
And I remember from first time round that duvets shouldn't be used until they are 1; I've got a selection of sleeping bags (10lb+ I think they recommend starting at) and a few blankets for the very early weeks. DS was still using his baby duvet when he was 5 even though it only covered half of him so they can last a while!Little lady arrived 13/12/110 -
I think what worries me most is having a baby at the coldest time of year and making sure it is warm enough without overheating it....I also have no idea what to put the baby in, what it should sleep in...do I use blankets when sleeping....Im sure I will figure it out at some point.:T baby boy born 01/01/2012 my New Years Day Boy

just watching fresh meat again, very strange progamme, my legs really hurt tonight and my ankles ache, not sure why, not done during the day, might be that restless leg thing. Spoke to the mw about not sleeping, she said its really common and a lot of pregnant women survive on about 4 hours a night. I also spoke to her about not wanting to go over my due date as OH is only home until christmas ish, which if i have baby on my due date is fine as OH will have 6 weeks to look after me, but it means if I'm late and then for some reason end up having an emergency c section, OH will only be home for 4 weeks after to look after me. THe MW said she would speak to the consultant as they do deal with social situations but its up to them and they would be messing with what comes naturally! So not holding out much hope. Really should go and make a cuppa dont think Im going to go back to sleep any time soon!
Right am back have just made myself a cuppa, and a cup of raspberry leaf tea, need to be drinking it more i guess, think the reason im not sleeping tonight is i just cant stop thinking about the birth, how im going to prepare for it, what its going to be like etc0 -

expect the worst and anything else will be a bonus i did this with both of mine my 1st labour was about 5hrs 30 odd mins long done on gas and air and my second labour which i was induced for was 2hrs 37 mins also done on gas and air.
So i have been really lucky but remember with each contraction try not to tense up it will hurt so much more, just try to say very loose, remember to breathe deeply and in the nose out of the mouth and most importantly listen to your midwife.
as soon as i told my delivery midwife i needed to push she was like great stuff but dont do it yet! give your body a chance for everything to get as erm.. big no wrong word as open? lol not much better, as it can possibly get before the baby makes its way down, and i did this final stage of labour was 10 mins and i didnt need stitches.
Also remember keep calm and rational they are there to help... usually loland good luck you`ll be fine

How are you feeling this morning Missy? Has the weird feeling gone? You sound like you are getting the lurgy that I've just got rid of.
It was quiet on here last night, my excuse is I was in bed for 8.30pmWW maybe we are twins everyone keeps asking when i am due too. and touching me!!!
I've been lucky and only people I know have touched my bump and they always ask first. Apart from clients, I work with adults with learning disabilities and a lot of them like to touch bump, but usually do so without asking. It can take me by surprise sometimes as it is quite an intimate gesture to touch a woman's stomach, unless you're in the medical profession. I've never touched a pregnant woman's stomach, not even my sister's.WW, that's quite funny.... Best I had was from a very blunt secretary here who looked me up one day and asked was I pregnant. Yes,blah, blah. 'Oh good. I thought you were just fat up til now.' Best thing is, she doesn't mean it cheeky!
OMG!!! What a thing to say!!! I had a client today ask me to work with him and I said I can't as I can't keep up with him at the mo. I explained when I come back to work after having the baby I will work with him, his reply was 'ARE YOU HAVING A BABY????' :rotfl: Made me laugh all day after all the other comments I've had about twins etc.
BM, it does make you paranoid when folk keep commenting on your size. Those little M&S vests are cool, that's exactly the colours I likeUsually baby would wear those under a sleepsuit (long arms and legs) or you could put joggers and a cardi on top instead. I plan for my LO to mainly live in vests and sleepsuits for the first few months as it will just be easier for changing, and I don't plan on leaving the house all winter
Scan day today :j0 -
It's freezing here!!!! I wimped out totally on waiting for the car to warm this morning- leather seats- and filled a sock with rice, stuck it in the microwave for a few seconds....Nice heat!!! Shivering hurts around my stomach!
Had the Lab beside me last night- she completely ignored DH, which is weird as she's normally a big big suckup to him. She lay beside me for hours, with her head on bump- kept me nicely toasted and warm.....0
