Morning all and congrats to the new mums and babies!

Just been reading back about OHs and their views - had a very similar conversation with my DH this morning when I explained about the womb getting about 1cm bigger per week. You could almost see the cogs whirring as he tried to imagine how big that will make my stomach!! I've already explained how although I will get smaller after the birth it will not all disappear at once...

I'm starting to think more about the birth and actually having her here, but I think he's sort of forgetting that bit for now. He has started worrying about her having boyfriends though :rotfl:. We are sort of joking with each other about how much we will have to do to take care of her when she's born and how much things will change, but probably the best way for us to get used to the idea.

Had my 28 week check and GTT so far this week. Midwife seemed concerned that my GTT after result was high but not high enough that there would be an issue, but then asked me to ring the hospital to check with the antenatal assessment peeps. Must do that now!

    Whoops.

It just came to me we hadn't updated our email address with a company, so I nipped online to change it across.... While doing so I found an unusual transaction, and queried it with DH. Doesn't show much, just final amount, but unusual card linked to it.... :)

I've just received an annoyed text telling me I've discovered my Christmas present.

This happens every year. I don't try to find out- I'll poke and rattle the box- but I don't really want to know. Yet every year, I'll find it on the credit card, see an email when I'm checking mine (they're linked via Outlook), or I'll take delivery of it in the post. I found last years by clearing out a cupboard when stuff fell on me..... :) I'm not nosy, I just seem to keep finding them by accident!

On the other hand, DH's Christmas present sat unwrapped, in full view, at eye level for two months- now I've wrapped it, he's noticed it! :)

I'm so glad you said this Wonder Womble, I'm in tears now thinking about it, I also feed sad that it's not gonna be just us, and I thought it made me a crappy mum to think things like that. I'm glad I'm not the only one. Thank you so much for posting that. Yeah I've started, on episode 9 now :) took a while to get into like you said, but it is very good. :D

Ahh, I think you meant this at me (though WW and I do have the same due date!)... It's a funny feeling isn't it? I think because our pregnancy was a surprise, I feel it even more. I often get "groundrush" when things have a deadline/time limit on them, so the fact that there's only 2 months with me and OH only makes me want to run back to Aus where it was just us and have him all to myself before things change forever. And it's the forever bit that freaks me out.... OH reckons we will still be just us, and says we'll just have to treasure each other more.

Glad you're enjoying The Wire. I think it's so clever, the way you feel about the characters really changes as the series goes on... I started off quite fancying McNulty, but then had a crush on Stringer in the later series! Some of it is so shocking too, brilliant show.

Ah I'm so sorry, Baby Brain really is taking over, combine that with barely sleeping last night as I was up weeing every 45 minutes  Blue Monkey :) I shall keep saying that to myself.

Yeah ours was a surprise too, plus it'l just be 3 years together for us, just before baby is born, which really isn't long I don't think  I know we'l cope and be fine, just feel like we've not had much time together before all of this is thrust upon us.

Hmm see I don't know about McNulty, it's a maybe for me, infact I've got a crush on..... Danny from Blue Bloods, in real life when it's Donnie Whalberg, WHAT?!?! but as Danny he is just so yummy. But my number one crush is Michael Weston from Burn Notice, even out of character he is seriously hot. I think I've just got an attraction to tough guys! Seriously wrong.

Aimless- Debenhams are the only bras I've found really comfortable, everything else digs in. Saying that, bump is so high I have slight bruising on my front, despite wearing the correct size. I had a couple of maternity bras and decided early on they were rubbish- correct size but seemed to flap at the top! Ebay, 99p bras.... always plenty.

Thanks, I'll pop in when I'm in the big city next week. Amazing how depressing it is having nothing to wear and being uncomfortable all the time!

As for Beyonce, I'm at least a month ahead of her, and I still get the tinest bit of a waist reappear when I sit down, not as much as before of course. :D

    No worries :)

We've been together 9 years and I feel all possessive over having to share OH as I'm so used to it being just the two of us.... I'm sure a baby will complement our lives really Gilly, the wonder of it all makes me well up. Cheesey - but how amazing that our love is producing a whole other new little person!!

OMG Donnie was my fave from New Kids on the Block, so I'll let you have that one... I haven't seen the other two series you mention...

Right off for some lunch, me and bump are STARVING!

Funny - I was thinking in the shower about having a shower when hubby is at work and I'm home with the baby. Expect I'll leave it in it's moses basket and jump in and out quick! :rotfl:

GIlly - OH and me have been together for almost 10 years and that still doesn't seem like enought time for 'just the two of us', lol
I see what you mean about Donnie Walhberg, but surely Mark Walhberg is just the most scrummiest man on the planet...... ah, I can but wish :)

Blue Monkey I know me and OH were saying it's basically taking a piece of you and a piece of your soul mate and making a new person, it really is amazing. :o I'm so intrigued to see what he looks like, as a baby I didn't look like anyone, but now I'm like my dad, and all the babies in my Dad's side of the family look so similar, so I'm guessing we'l follow suit.

Twigpig I've had this thought too, really not sure what I'll do, aswell when out and about on my own, I'll have to wait to use the mother and baby toilet :o

With DS1 I used to put him in the bouncy chair with me in the bathroom and sang to him while I had a shower. With DS2, I used to shower in the evenings or before DH left for work as I had to be up anyway to do the school run.

I do understand where you ladies are coming from. Your first child transforms your life in ways you didn't realise. When we had DS2, we said to ourselves, what the hell was all the fuss about?! But your first child changes everything

Brad Pitt is still my #1 celebrity boyfriend, but I used to fancy Mark W quite a bit too - though he's v short I think.
