P.s. am I the only one in despair of ever finding a bra that fits?!
When I went to the Mothercare evening, I measured 32G, but couldn't fit in anything less than a 36E! They only had one, and it's a sort of plungy style and I tend to fall towards the middle, so its heading back. I have a Royce one that fits ok, but pinches after a little while, can't wait to take it off. And I ordered another Mothercare one on Ebay, which is fairly comfy, but goes to the other extreme to the first one, and I feel I look like I have one tucked in each armpit.
All I want is a bra that is fairly cheap, has some degree of uplift, and doesn't hurt!
Think the problem is, being short, my bump seems to be very long and stops my bras fitting right. The Mothercare lady looked at it and said 'ooohh, its quite high, isn't it' and I said, and low too, which she agreed with.0 -
My OH doesn't live with me at the moment, but is planning to move in next month before sproggle arrives. He's in RAF so living in cheap accomodation on base. He's currently deciding between 2 job offers, leaving RAF or staying in for promotion but which will involve maybe having to go away again (4-7 weeks at a time) plus a course in USA which is currently 5 months long, but hoping it'll be shorter by the time he comes round to doing it.
I like having some time to myself at the moment, but don't think I'd like being on my own too much once there is a baby here too. DS is only here half the week which I like tbh; it's going to be a struggle having to be a full time parent again!Little lady arrived 13/12/110 -
Aimless, re bras - i found Mothercare a bit rubbish unfortunately, the lady was really lovely but she really did measure me wrong chest and cup size both too big. have got mine from figleaves, and ebay, mostly hotmilk ones, they fit really nicely and werent too expensive in the sale.
OMG am watching celebrity come dine, how stupid is chantelle!! i wish she'd stop flicking her hair about!!!!!!0 -
The Mothercare lady was rather rubbish, but had 'been on a course'
I refused to accept anything that obviously didn't fit though. 36E was close enough to the one I chose myself a few weeks ago that was 36F.
She tried to suggest a sleep bra as a regular one, of course with my chest it looked and felt awful. She also thought you could switch down from 36E to 34D, I had to explain, no, it would be 34F! That theory never works for me anyway, if I change band size it just doesn't fit.
The trouble I'm having is I just can't find a size that is right. Even if it looks and feels the right fit, they always seem to pinch after a few minutes.0 -
hmmmm dont know what to suggest aimless, i found wires pinched under my arms, but the non wired ones didnt. Maybe go to a department store and try on lots of different makes and sizes?0

Lovecrafting when I was at school, a group of us were interested in Paganism. The school only taught the "main religions" (pfft) so we got together in a spare room at lunch time and discussed stuff. We looked into Wiccan spells too (with regards to health, happiness etc, no cursing or anything vile like that) and we were all hauled into the headmistress' office.
We explained that we weren't being idiots or trying some sort of devil worship, and that we wet merely exploring Paganism as a religion and a way of life.
We were all told that should we continue these meetings, and should we continue to operate as a coven of witches (something that made us p*ss ourselves, as we had never claimed to be anything other than a few girls reading up on a religion, certainly not claimed to be a coven!!!) we would be suspended or expelled. We were basically treated as if we were practicising satanism in class and bringing demons to lessons!
We all kicked up a real fuss about discrimination, and we each (voluntarily) wrote an essay about what we had been doing and why (in order to educate the teachers)
We were ignored and treated like sh*t.
I think it's right that you're kicking up a fuss. If you don't, other kids who want to learn will be dismissed or treated unfairly. I think that the teachers need to educate themselves as much as the kids!
In other news, today I'm 35w4d, and according to my growth scan this afternoon, bump weighs..... 8lb2oz
As such, I'm booked for induction on 28th Octoberkinda hoping he comes before then though

We're off to see the other half in the hols, I might wander into the big city and try a few.Where they pinch, wired or not, is at the front. They feel too small, but there's actually plenty of room, I can't figure it out.

MamaMoo thank you for sharing that with us, i think alot of the problem is lack of education, when they hear that the kids are pagans im sure they think we go disecting frogs and cursing folk, but its not like that at all, yes i practice witchcraft and yes that involves magic but the kids do not do that as until they are 18 they are not responsible for there own actions and thats what 99% of what we do is about, i dont mind so much me being missunderstood but my kids is a differnt story entirley. I refuse for them to be discriminated against and beleive the teacher of my dd2 owes her an apology because the way it was discussed was as if she was humouring me and it was a stupid made up religion, she was not impressed one bit and as a result neither am I. I have taken the decision tonight after discussing it wtih my DH and mother that i will be making an official complaint tomorow about the teacher, and if this continues my children will not be in that school, and i am happy to tell the education authority why. no matter what happens we will still be going up pendle hill on samhain, we will still be marking the change of season, we will still be doing what we usually do with the kids, and i will still be lighting candles in honour of our anscestors that have passed and doing a blessing for those that are in need of help. we will still be making hampers for the homless and taking them out to the streets, nothing will change that.. i just think if the kids were a little more educated on why we do those things then they may understand my kids more and why they are how they are.
would they be treated the same if they were jewish? im sorry its long winded i will shut up about it now0 -

I've had them since about 25 weeksI've went from someone reasonably presentable, to someone jealously guarding the mini chocolate rolls while shuffling like a crab.
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: This made me chuckle out loud!Officially went on maternity leave yesterday although have been signed off for the last 2 months due to high blood pressure, get a letter today offering me voluntary redundancy! Bit of a shock although it has been on cards for a while as I work in local gov, am tempted but does anyone know if I still keep my maternity pay. From what I have read I think I should but can't get hold of HR to check. Maybe the shock will get the baby going!!!!
I go on maternity in 6 weeks and my whole department has been offered Vol Redundancy too. My understanding is that you would be entitled to SMP but not your Occupational Maternity Pay, I am local authority too.
Nothing interesting to report from me other than I had another good nights sleep last night :j We have a labour and birth class tomorrow afternoon for 3 hours, hope it isn't too gruesome
Jen, pleased to hear that your Occ Health appointment went well.
Phunkles, welcome to the board, good to see you over here
I've read back but can't remember anything. OH has had to go back out to work so I am trying to decide whether to do the ironing or to lie in bed reading a book ................0 -
