K, my car has bucket seats- they're fitted with a very high lumbar support on either side (car model was originally designed as a track car), so my problem is swinging and lifting my legs over the actual seat! Getting in- can drop onto lumbars and lower in, getting out- an all fours job!
That's the problem with SPD isn't it - actually lifting your blinking legs!! We have a shower over our bath and it's becoming harder to get in for my shower especially after yesterday. It's sooooo glamourous being pregnant lol!!! Oh well 16 days and counting!Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0 -
It's so hard not to laugh when DH is lecturing me about keeping my legs together when I move- so want to tell him that was probably the cause.....
Yup, walking etc fine to a point. Lifting legs higher so I properly walk instead of shuffle- ouch. Stairs- ouch. Keep trapping a nerve in my leg, I think, my left leg keeps going numb and draggy!
I've went from someone reasonably presentable, to someone jealously guarding the mini chocolate rolls while shuffling like a crab.
Yup, pregnancy's glamorous.0 -

Aww thanks missy. I guess you just have to get on with it? I've got 2 other kids to look after and it's not going away til birth. Every day is one step closer.
Lirin that's hilarious! My DH is very understanding. He swings my legs into bed for me pmsl!!Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0 -
Officially went on maternity leave yesterday although have been signed off for the last 2 months due to high blood pressure, get a letter today offering me voluntary redundancy! Bit of a shock although it has been on cards for a while as I work in local gov, am tempted but does anyone know if I still keep my maternity pay. From what I have read I think I should but can't get hold of HR to check. Maybe the shock will get the baby going!!!!0

oooh boatgirl i dont know, i hope you get through to HR soon and you get the answer you want x0

From what I've read from threads on here Boat Girl you are still entitled to your maternity. Go and ask over on the employment boards someone will know. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

Get your leg checked out! Your GP can check all your nerves and if it is staying numb then they will hopefully do a neurological examination to double check.
I'm sure you will be fine but I thought my numb leg was normal until I suddenly couldn't walk properly anymore, then I stood on a piece of broken plate (a huge bit was sticking out of my foot) and only realised because there was a trail of blood
For what it's worth, ladies with SPD I have a bath board which they gave me when my problem was playing up and my legs didn't work, it really helped me and it would help Kandboys with the shower situation (I couldn't get into or out of the bath either)Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o
