It's not online but will share, it's really easy...
Gops - this is the first thing I have knitted that isn't a square or rectangle :rotfl:, the shaping bit is dead easy, you're just decreasing stitches by knitting two stitches together. I bet if you gave it a go you'd manage it fine.
This pattern is for a hat for a circumference of 38cm. By the looks of it, it's a bit big for a newborn but I'm not too sure to be honest. The recommended wool is Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino. I've used a baby 4 ply yarn and it seems to have turned out fine.
With 3mm (no. 11) needles cast on 91 stitches. Beginning with a K row, work 8 rows in stocking stitch (knit one row, purl one row). Change to 3.75mm (no. 9) needles. Continue in eyelet pattern as follows:
1st row (RS): K to end
2nd row (and following WS rows): P to end
3rd row: *K5, yfwd, k2tog, rep from * to end
5th row: K to end
7th row: K2, *yfwd, k2tog, k5, rep from * ending last rep, K3
8th row: P to end.
Continue in pattern until work measures 12cm from 4th row worked on roll edge, ending with a 2nd or 6th pattern row (for me this ended up being four full repetitions of the 8 rows then to the 6th row on the fifth repetition, was exactly 12cm)
To shape the crown:
1st row: K1, (k2tog, K4) 15 times - will reduce to 76 stitches
2nd row (and following alternate rows): P to end
3rd row: K1, (k2tog, k3), 15 times - 61 stitches
5th row: K1, (k2tog, k2) 15 times - 46 stitches
7th row: K1, (k2tog, K1) 15 times - 31 stitches
9th row: K1, (k2tog) 15 times - 16 stitches
11th row: (k2tog) to end - 8 stitches.
Cut off yarn, leaving a long end. Thread through the last 8 stitches, pull tight and fasten off securely.
For the stalk:
On 3mm (no. 11) needles cast on 6 stitches, work 6 rows in stocking stitch, cast off.
To make up:
Join back seam on hat. Join cast on and cast off edges of stalk and attach stalk to top of hat.
Hope that makes sense for anyone who wants to try it. Let me know if not...:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0 -
4nnabella- love the bump piccie, your bump is so pert, mine is nearing the floor!! I admire you doing the hat it is good of you as I have no patience!
I am strapped to the tens, hubby had to put it on me whilst I stood there in my knickers :0 no way you can put it on without help! It seems to help so far, don't know how long battery lasts, have one extra in the box but only one set of sticky pads which it says are reusable. Not sure if they will keep adhering so will see!
Hope all are well
Labour vibes to the boldly! And anyone else in need.
All calm for now apart from occasional pain so watching some tv lying down for now.

Right, I have signed up OH for a few baby clubs, and have printed out two more Nature Babycare coupons, 2 Asda starter packs, and Huggies club one. I have also signed him up for Boots & Tesco baby clubs. All the pennies go in one pot in the end!!!!
So, my plan tomorrow is go to Asda to pick up 2 more starter packs. (Does it still work that when the packs are on offer you still get £5 off? Was thinking of getting 2 packs with 1 voucher and paying £1-ish for both, so I could get 4 in total!) Then go back to car, cut out the coupons from the sleeve and go back for more... And also the wipes - could try and stop at Tesco's and get the Buy 1 Get 2 free deal, so 3 packs of wipes for £1.48 or so. Or is it possible to get a better deal? It probably sounds very greedy!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
Gilly, I've been married a few times, my first was an irish lad and I struggled to settle , we lived then in Enniskillen, I wish i'd given it more of a go as I left him as I was so home sick, so i admire the move you have made, the things we do for love!
I like it here, it's not like the place gets me down, we live pretty much slap bang in the middle of Belfast, and I have everything on my doorstep. My friends and family aren't that far away in reality. I think I just need a good boot up the behind sometimes, and made realise what is important. I was in relationship for a long time where I didn't see my OH as much, maybe once a month for 4/5 days, and that killed me at the time, so now I've got what I wanted, so I need to suck it upit'l get better I'm sure.
Not surprised you didn't like Enniskillen, it's in the !!!! end of nowhereThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Just had the fire brigade round,so that's cheered me up somewhat:D
Re tens machines, how do you go about hiring one? Thanks in advance.
I got mine from here Lucy. They delivered it when I was exactly 37wks. The price was one of the best around!
