Phew!! Thanks Gillyx, I was really getting worried about that but from what you say, it would be a really silly thing to make an appt for me at such a silly time if I had to fast.
I'm just gonna turn up, me, my (still tiny) bump and the weetabix in my belly
Gops x
Don't worry as muchyou're lucky your bump is small, less stretch marks and flab to worry about afterwards
Plus you're having a girl? They're generally smaller anyway
At my 28 week appointment, I had bloods, urine and BP check and because mines was at the hospital a wee scan toothat was it.
The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
No Goppers it will just be bloods
I didn't get the GTT either and wasn't told to fast or anything before my bloods. So I'd assume you'd be the same as me. Also if you were getting the GTT your appointment would be first thing as they wouldn't want you fasting all that time.
WSS,also you normally go to hospital to have the GTT and it would be an early appointment too. You'd never have to wait til 1.30pm without food:happyloveBaby girl born 27/2/12:happylove

No, you don't need to fast Gops... 28 week bloods are just to check your iron levels again, that sort of thing. A GTT is different.
I've just finished my little hat... Sorry if the picture is massive, they seem to come up big when I post from my phone... But it's just so cute I wanted to share... I'm going to knit one in red and put green leaves on it so it looks like a strawberry...:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0 -
I'm the same, I don't know anyone here really, OH's family live a good hour away. My family and friends are even further away, and unless I get on a boat or plane I ain't seeing them for a long time. I feel lonely all the time, and as I said a few days ago, nearly every day the only person I speak to is my OH or if we go out, the checkout person at Tesco. I know it'l get even worse when little one is here but I know at least in the short term I'll have so many visitors, and at the time I will probably be like eff off, but at least I'll have someone different to speak to and different faces to see
I know I take it out on my OH a lot which is crap of me as there really is nothing he can do.
Gilly, I know how you feel - I have no friends around here. In honesty, I can count the number of friends in the UK on my hands, probably wont even need both of them! Both our families are abroad, 2-3 hour flight. I am not very close to my family, and I start getting crazy after spending a few days with them - have never been close to my mum (I am the oldest of 3, and the other two always got more attention, no.2 being a boy, and no.3 being a girl 6 years younger than me). I am not getting along with OH's mum very well, she is a retired doctor, and every time OH talks to her now, she is going on that I need to do this or that - I don't want her to be my doctor, I just want her to be excited about the grandchildren coming, and be a grandma! OH can't understand this, he says I will take advise from nayone else, but her.
We moved to the area nearly 4 years ago, and I still haven't made friends here, we both work quite a way away in opposite directions, so even the connections at work are not that easy - as after work we both keep rushing home!
But - I do hope we will get to know some mums soon!!!!!! Maybe that is the key to making new friends at our stage of life?Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -

I feel like a horrible cow moaning, because I know how lucky I am to have a wonderful OH who I love with all my heart and a beautiful baby on the way, but it does get you down. I don't even have work, and sometimes when OH goes to work, I literally just sleep because there is nothing else to do. How pathetic is that?!?
I'm lucky in that my friends and family are a half an hour plane journey away, so I can go often, but obviously with a baby in tow, it's not really practical, babies have so much stuff :rotfl: even more in your case!
I feel like we waste so much money gong out for food etc as it's the only time we get out really. Living in the city most places cost to do things.
I understand where you're coming from, my friends ex was a doctor and he'd be lecturing us all on everything. Was more of a do as I say, not as I do type too
I know I'm looking forward to getting out to the mum and baby groups, will need to try hard to go to as many as possible, no matter how hard I'm finding it. OH gets 2 weeks paternity, and his mum is taking 2 weeks off, then I have friends and family visit for 2/3 weeks, alternating after that. So hopefully for the first 5/6 weeks I'll be ok, will be after that I'll have to make an effort. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Afternoon all !
Thanks for your good wishes xx
Still here and calm! Pains fizzled out in the morning so had a sleep to recover from last night lol still getting the mucus stuff and am not doing anything just trying to sit on the sofa just get the odd pain here and there. Thinking it will probably kick off again tonight so am currently considering opening the tens box to err figure out what to do with it...
Good to read what your all up to as its keeping me sane !!
Love the hat !!

Moan as much as you want - I know eaxtly what you feel! I had to beg OH to go for a drink on Sunday - just to the local pub, and I had a glass of juice - but I find it nice to jsut get out of the house! That is why I am !!!!!!ing him constantly to go out for meals, etc, and he is not liking that much! I hope to keep family at bay for the first few weeks, and then I think OH's mum will be first, then my family. I just hope I can get away with having them here for a week, max 2 at a time, as I will really get post natal depression if either stas longer! When we went for Christmas, we visited family friends, and their daughter was staying with them with a 1 year old boy. Both her mum and my mum wouldn't listen to what mum was saying, they even gave pizza to the baby! And her mum was proud to say, that when she makes soup for the baby, she makes it much nicer by adding salt, etc, although her daughter (and baby's mum) was saying not to do this!!!!! So, I can see wqhat fights I will have on my hands. Maybe mean of me, but I bought both grandmas a book for Christmas - 'The Grandmas' Book: For the Grandma Who's Best at Everything'. Maybe they will let us do things as we want, not how theyused to do and it 'didn't do us any harm - we grew up ok'!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -

I would say definitely test it out! When I had my physio class, the lady said that now the new guidelines are athat you can use TENS machine any time in your pregnancy, but not the boost button. It is very useful if you suffer with the back pain. She said, that instructions that you get with the machine, still say not to use it, but it is not true anymore.Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0
