Back to lying down as cant get comfortable sitting so wish that I could kneel.
Gilly don't worry about moaning its all valid worries but am hoping that babies are like dogs ie if I said something to someone whilst out on my own they would probably think I was a nutter (I don't live in the north! but the south). However if Dylan was with me people usually say something and are more friendly. I am hoping it will be the same with the baby as long as no baby screams emanating from the pram! Plus we hopefully an carry on with the chat on the newborn thread which will help. I did not do proper classes and left my job earlier this year, most people I am friends with are all a drive away so it's difficult but I sm determined to make an effort but am a bit lazy as I am not the most social person.

As for annoying families gin it is my hubby's duty to keep away all unwanted visitors!! I have told him now that I am not speaking to anyone so he will tell them I am resting for now as I have not a clue what will happen when and don't want people to keep ringing. At the moment it's just odd fishing texts which I am tolerating lol!! You lot know more than my relatives!!! Tee heee!!

Can't advise anything about hiring, as haven't looked at it myself.

Hope you are ok re: fire brigate! Hope nothing serious happened and they just made a friendly visit?;)

I would say definitely test it out! When I had my physio class, the lady said that now the new guidelines are athat you can use TENS machine any time in your pregnancy, but not the boost button. It is very useful if you suffer with the back pain. She said, that instructions that you get with the machine, still say not to use it, but it is not true anymore.

I have opened the box and put a battery in it but am at a loss so hubby will look at it later. If I get pain in back tonight will give it a go!

Lucy I bought mine so can't recommend where to hire but worth asking mw/hospital and think there are quite a few firms that do it .

I just googled 'hire maternity TENS' and it came up with a load of websites you can hire them through, for example...

    Boots: http://www.bootsmaternityrentalproducts.co.uk/

Tesco: can't find a link but found this on their baby club website
TENS machines are available to hire from Tesco Pharmacies for a period of six weeks at a cost of £27.50. For more information on participating stores, call 0800 59 16 88 (have your Tesco Clubcard number to hand).

    Maternity TENS: http://www.maternitytens.com/

Normally they send them to you two weeks before your due date, and the standard hire period is four weeks. Most of them allow to extend the hire period by another two weeks for free, if you contact them before the end of the 'standard' hire period, if that makes sense.

Also check with your hospital, I've hired mine from the labour unit where I'm booked in. I didn't even know they hired them out but the midwife told us at the antenatal workshop we went to, and it was cheapest to do it through them.

    Afternoon ladies n bumps,

Had my pre op bloods today as it was easier whilst I was out, then drove up to East surrey and had the first of the steroid injections, god it stung, it's not a quick jab it took a minute or two, Need to go back tomorrow for jab two, they warned me my blood sugars will spike tonight with the steroids so need to up my insulin.

Can't wait to get tomorrows jab over with then it's just bricking it till Friday xxxx

Gilly, I've been married a few times, my first was an irish lad and I struggled to settle , we lived then in Enniskillen, I wish i'd given it more of a go as I left him as I was so home sick, so i admire the move you have made, the things we do for love!

Right gonna get dinner started, fancy a nice spanish chicken and rice tonight xxxxx
