Congratulations Kira & Kate on the birth of your beautiful baby daughters.

Hello all, hope mums and bumps are doing well, the list is getting shorter and shorter, I'm still 19th though so it's not scaring me too much yet. We had a scouse taxi driver last night and he was hilarious talking about babies :rotfl: always nice though when people say "oh you won't know what's hit you" lovely. Flat is finally clean and tidy as we, well I say we, my OH done it last night, so planning on getting last bits of hospital bag packed today and last lot of baby clothes sorted out. I've been saying that for days, but I'm doing it today! Had a major leak last night despite wearing breast pads, so had to strip the whole bed covers  so so annoying.

Also a few of the sterilisers on sale in Asda/Tesco at the moment in Baby Events have been reduced at Boots, to the same price, so if you've joined the parenting club, you'd get your 10 points per £1 making it cheaper :)

hi everyone, im 24 weeks today so moving over to this tread!! and it was a bit shocking to see babies being born yesterday, makes me scared!!! its a bit too real!!

    congratulations katie and kira xxx

my due date is 5th may and im havin a girl if someone could add me to the list plz xxx

jus a quick question..... if fresh pineapple bring on labour should i not be eatin it throughout the pregnancy?? i get one most weeks for the family and im wondering if i should stop eatin it?? thanks

Hi jem, glad you could join us! :D I have added you to the list.

I'm still 6th... Although I'll be moving up on Monday!

If I go overdue and start trying to get things moving, pineapple is the one thing I won't be eating! Can't stand the stuff!

Midwife came round this morning to check my bp again. She did it first with a machine and it was quite high, then again with a manual one and it was fine. Does anyone else get that? All the times I've had the high readings, they've been done on a battery powered monitor, then when they do it again with a manual one the reading is much lower... Anyway, she said its ok for now, I'll just need to get it checked again mid-week but I'm 'borderline' for being referred to the hospital if it stays high. I asked if there were any implications at the moment for labour/birth and she said not really, just that they'll keep a close eye on it as and when I'm in labour.

Off to the supermarket now for food shopping... Catch you all later!

Omg annabella was saying to my Dad this yesterday, if they use a manual machine my blood pressure is normally fine, but the electric ones are poop!

Does anyone find it takes at least 3 or 4 attempts to get a bp reading or is it just me? Lol

Congratulations on your beautiful baby girls Kira and Kate

Somehow I don't seem to be climbing the list - it's getting shorter but I'm still right down near the bottom!

4nnabella midwife's shouldn't use a battery monitor during pregnancy as they're not calibrated for the extra capacity. A manual reading is always most accurate. Only around 1 in 20 battery monitors are suitable for use during pregnancy, if you have a home one you can check the manual or ask the blood pressure association if yours is. If the manual readings are good, don't worry.

The same thing happens when I have my blood pressure taken, it takes a few attempts!!!

Does anyone else find it hard to control their body temp!! I seem to get so hot all of a sudden, I basically passed out in a restaurant the other day but luckily dp could see I was going and rescued me before I hit the deck!!

I'm not sure if it could mean low blood pressure, high blood pressure or something to do with sugar levels!!
Don't see my midwife for basically 3 weeks but if it gets worse I will give her a call I think.

I'm always warm, unbearably so, infact OH and I are struggling to live in the same house at the moment. I kid you not from the moment he gets up, he's got a t shirt, thick hoody and sometimes a jacket on because he's so cold, but I cannot stand to have the heating on. It's saving us a packet :D

Well I've sorted out the drawers to put babys things in, so I'm rewarding myself with a cuppa and some cake/biscuits.

Got the leaflet through about the Tesco Baby Event, doesn't seem as good as the Asda one at all, if anyone wants I will type the products out as there aren't many.
