Lisa - congratulations on the V-day!!!!! I hope you get the appointment soon. I am not that far from the hospital, but I still would prefer to have them on the same day, not few days apart (I have my Week 20 can on Tuesday and consultant on Thursday, as this is the only day she is in - will have to try and time the rest of the scans/appointments for the same day other times, apparently I will be having these every four weeks)

Kira - good luck for the appointment!!!!! It is annoying that they still haven't talked to you about what will happen if you go overdue, but hopefully today will shed some light - they can;t let you go forever! Are there any NICE guidelines that you could look up and quote to them?..

Good luck Kira! I really hope they do have something they can do for you. Also hoping that my midwife can do something for me! Appointment in two hours time. I have said to DH that if the baby isn't further engaged I may cry. Curry tonight if we have no progress beforehand, I know it's supposed to be an old wives tale, but I like curry and need a treat so the worst case is a lovely meal that has no effect whatsoever on starting labour. DH's sister came round last night and was bending down to tell bump she needs to get out now so we can all have cuddles!

These appointments you girls are having do seem daft. Hopefully with regular ones they will get them synched. I had two growth scans and consultant appointments along the way and my hospital managed to organise the scan just before so I could go into see the dr with the results - would make most sense for them too you would have thought?!

It would, however, it is different departments in my hospital for ultrasound and for consultant (antenatal), so I have to arrange the appointments myself, I just hope I can do this for week 24 when I come next time. I asked them yesterday if I should book my next appointments now, but they just said to book the next one, and then when I come, book the following one.

Morning, thank you for the advise last night ladies, I went this morning and they think baby is fine - infact they commented on it being on the large side which really surprised me!! Just sent some urine off to be tested for UTI though she did say it looked like I may have a touch of thrush which could have irritaed my insides so has given me some cream.

Congrats on V-day Lisa :0) xx

morning ladies, i dont know what happened yesturday, i didnt go online at all apart from answering a post on facebook and even that was on my phone. i dont even know what happened one minute i was making jamie oliver toad in the hole the next it was nearly bed time. must have been a sleepy day.

i got an email this morning from the lady in the knitting shop telling me my order is ready and that she will be posting it today, she said she has put a pair of teeny tiny booties in the parcel for me because she remembered last time it was a mass panic to get clothes. so i had a little cry at that and how thoughtfull she was.

congrats on v day lisa hun.

I'm an idiot - just looked around for my notes and the urine sample pot ready for my appointment and couldn't find it. Now I have to go to DH's work as it is all in the boot of his car...

Thank goodness he only works a couple of miles away and I found out now rather than at the last minute.

I'm also thinking about cutting the cord myself, if circumstances allow, but people say that's weird and I'm wondering if that is maybe a bit too symbolic as I've not had a great pregnancy.

I would love to cut my baby's cord. My DH is really bad with hospitals and blood so there's no chance of him doing it. I just think i've grown and carried a baby for 9 months then pushed it into this world why shouldn't it be me that makes it it's own little individual person by cutting it's link to me?

My OH already said he wants to cut the cord. He watched the OBEM with me, and he was wiping a tear or too, more than me. He was annoyed with Kurt (? the big mouthed guy), he really needed a slap!

  • Hi everyone

Hope mummies and bumps are all doing well. Labour vibes to the boldies :)

Been ill all week with cold (which i don't mind) and incredibly painful sinusitus. I get it about once a year and always need antibiotics to get rid. Managed to get a telephone appointment with Dr on Tues and she was really reluctant to prescribe antibiotics. I explained my history with it and said i'd rather take the antibiotics, it seems silly to suffer just because i'm pregnant, and the medication is safe for me to take.

Been back at work this week, my last day is Feb 9th but i'm not working a full 5 day week before then what with appointments and annual leave i still have to take. I'm worried i'll be bored for 3 weeks before baby arrives but i need to take a years annual leave in 5 months so don't really have a choice. Sure i'll find something to occupy myself :)

Had scan at 28+4 and baby is weighing approx 2.9lb she's been lying on my right side the whole pregnancy and has started really sticking her bum either up into my ribs our out at my side so i have this lovely hard lump :) Just can't wait until she's here! Started washing all her clothes and getting the house all decluttered and sorted. Keepy telling myself i need to calm down and take it easy and my SPD is still bad but sometimes i just don't listen to myself :)

Hope everyone is well and bumps are growing nicely x

    Morning all :D

Lisa - congrats on v day! :j I hope you hear about your appointment soon and you get one that's convenient for you.

Kira - good luck for your appointment today, I hope it is productive!

I asked OH if he wanted to cut the cord, I didn't know if he fancied doing it or not, but he wants to do it if he is able. Carmilla - I don't think there's anything weird about wanting to cut it yourself, I like Darkphaery's way of thinking about it :D

I think I'll be having a lunchtime nap today, I've had a rubbish night's sleep! Nothing pregnancy-related though. OH came home from work yesterday complaining that he'd lost hearing in his left ear. He called into Boots on the way home to talk to a pharmacist, who said it could be linked to the cold he had last week and gave him some decongestants, but said to go to the doctor if it was the same today. So after a rubbish night's sleep, with him getting up every couple of hours, looking for painkillers, tossing and turning to get comfortable, I made him ring the GP this morning. I took him up there as he didn't want to drive himself, and he saw the nurse who said he's got an ear infection and gave him a prescription for antibiotics. I wasn't sure if he'd want to go to work after but he said he'd give it a go, so I took him to work and told him to let me know if he wants to come home early and I'll go pick him up. Bless him, he's not the best patient in the world so last night was a bit frustrating, but I understand he was in pain. He just always expects any tablet or medicine he takes to work instantly and completely, and then gets angry/frustrated when it doesn't, and complains that it's a waste of time. Anyway...

I then called in at Sainsbury's on the way home and got another big box of Fairy. I think we've now got enough washing powder to do six months worth of washing, if I do one wash a day... Might still get another box though, while they're on offer!
