    afternoon!

been feeling awful since the early hours with a migraine plus what we think is food poisoning_pale_
We ate a quiche that was 2 days past its use by date:doh: and both of us have been poorly.
I have started to feel a bit better and DH hasn't been quite as bad as me.
I had to cancel the dentist and hairdresser but luckily have managed to make new appointments. I've rung work and am not going in tomorrow - we are supposed to leave 24 hours symptom free from any sort of sickness before returning to work as I work with vulnerable adults.
OS isn't happening here today - no energy for anything.

I'll read the thread now and catch up x

    Good afternoon !

Thought id say my bit ! :) Had a good two days, yesterday I went shopping with my Mam, and picked up an anti alergen duvet from b and m, half price ! paid £4 for it, that can go away in the attic for next summer. (we have just moved in to our first home so need everything!)

I also went to tescos, went to the yellow label aisle! got two blocks of cheese halfprice, and 500g of fresh salmon for £3.50, which I then sectioned up in to individual portions and froze :) I was pleased with that, I got 3 good size portions out of it, and scraps to put in a fish pie.

Today I went to tescos (It's only a few minutes drive away) with my OH mother who lives next door, and we picked up two chickens BOGOF (£4 each originally) and took one each! It wasn't the value chickens either, so hopefully they will be nice! :)

I Haven't decided wether I would like to roast the whole chicken , or to joint it and use it piece by piece!

TapLady: Sorry to hear your ill! Are you sure its FP? Because my mams been really sick, theres a stomach bug going around aswell, though it is more possible its FP. Hope you feel better soon, I HATE being ill.

Afternoon all, now I'm a 'home-maker' I'll be able to join you more but I don't get half of what I want to get done, done!

So far today all I've done is swap the heavier quilt for the summer one as it's been quite nippy the last few nights - even OH was chilly last night  I've also put the Christmas Cake into the oven - another 2 hours to go! Meant to hoover the kitchen/dining room today so I can mop the floor but haven't quite got that far yet.... :o

Will be glad to get my energy(?!) and body back once I've given birth as I just can't seem to get anything done. Need to sort out lots of boxes in the spare room to get bits on eBay but a bit nervous I won't get to post them if I go into labour!

Thoughts are with the miners too - a [STRIKE]second[/STRIKE] third body found :(

    C xx

Taplady - hope you and hubby feel much better soon x

My sympathies go to the miner's families in South Wales.

Just having five minutes snuggle with Molly Dog and then it is a visit to the vets with the piggies. They seem very itchy since they came inside so probably need a jab. More expense - they cost more than my dogs:eek:

Im very worried about Mooloo as she is a lot of pain due to her neck. Please send her lots of healing vibes x

    Hugs x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Hi all,

Before I begin - love, luck and huge sympathy too all effected by the swansea miners - so very sad xx

I nearly feinted last night before bed, when I braved entering DD,s bedroom - not only had she tidied it, but she was sat on her bed REVISING!!!!!!!:eek: A few barbed comments were thrown by her, but I ignored them and even managed to get a sort of hug.... I told her that I was proud of her making the effort with the revising and hoped that we could start again after her major tantrum earier this week - sure it won,t be the last time, but I will enjoy the truce whilst it lasts :D

NSD today, but may be lured out later for a couple of drinks:p Well it is the weekend.

Hope you are all well, and have a chilled evening x

beemused: so sorry about your DS. What a worry for you, it really drags you down, doesn't it?
Bitsy Bean: had to giggle at the thought of your cat trying to get the pigeon through the cat flap. I once saw my cat doing the same thing with a wood pigeon, fortunately dead. She was having a real struggle and I think she was secretly relieved when I took it off her.
taplady: you just take care of yourself. A session like that can make you feel very weak for some time.

Nothing much done today. Had a tricky letter to write and it has taken me ages because everything had to be worded very carefully. Honestly, sometimes people in church behave just like children in the school playground. It takes every ounce of my diplomacy to deal with them. My friend ( the vicaress) is busy dealing with real matters of life and death and apart from saying curtly that I can bang their heads together has left me to get on with it.
Will spend the evening cooking for the drop in centre as it's the only time I have left before it's needed.

we're just guessing that it was because we both ate the suspect quiche last night! I'm usually sick with my migraines but not quite this much!

I'm feeling a bit fragile but so glad the headache has gone. DH on the mend hopefully, he's been in bed all afternoon.

    (((hugs))) to mooloo

thanks for the get well wishes:)

  • _pale_ so unbearably sad about the 4 miners :( it such a small town where it happened so everybody there will be affected. My friend who was one of the rescuers said it was awful there :(

Change of tone slightly, I've got my new car :jwent for a big drive in it, down the M4 (managed 95mph ;)) round Swansea, then to my parents, then my nan's, then home. Flatmate was meant to be coming out for a spin tonight but she not home yet so probably won't happen.

My group of work kids finished today, we had a nice lunch out to say goodbye. TBH I'll only miss a few of them, the rest were lovely but I didn't get attached to them. Army man was a tad emotional at the end :rotfl:, I bought him a half bottle of vodka and half bottle of gin to say thanks, and he looked so genuinely touched by it! We are having his leaving do next week so he said he'll say his goodbyes to me then!

OS wise - DW been on so guess I should empty it :rotfl:

    Have a good evening all

  • First I must say how sad it was to hear of those poor chaps in the mine.We tend to forget that mining is still a dirty, dangerous job.My late step pa-in-law was an ex-miner from Tredegar. He spent the last thirty years above ground working in the open air on the Isle of Wight yet still died of 'miners lung'I do feel for those poor families.

On a happier note thank you all for your good wishes for my DGS girlfriend Chloe's fitness test and I'm delighted to say that she has passed with flying colours and both Danny and her are thrilled to bits as she has wanted to become a police officer since she was a little girl.Tomorrow night I'm off to a family 'do' for the evening a 50th birthday plus his son is off to Brighton Uni as he has got a place there so with Chloe's good news its going to be a triple celebration.
I'm just off to pour a nice G&T and put my feet up Have a great evening whatever you are doing
    Cheers chums
