leandygandy - you are entitled to not get up and dressed yesterday, when I was VERY sick at the start (first 20 weeks!) I did that all the time. Once the baby comes you'll be up but never dressed, when people visit get them to do the washing up for you :D

Beth - I told him the DS9 wasn't sure himself if he wanted to go to the Buriel, so he finally agreed to not make him go. I will be in the carpark during the service to ensure it happens the way I want it to, because otherwise you just never know!

Do they know what happened yet with your DD?

I think you have made the right decision re your DS, when my FiL died my neice was 8 and she had nightmares after seeing her GD lowered down into the grave.

No not yet, the Police are doing a full investigation, DD is to be interviewed today, they are taking statements from all involved. They have the kettle and the tea that was left, I thought it was coffee but no it was tea. So it's a wait and see situation, at least the Police are taking it seriously. Thanks Hun.
  • Bitsy - My DS just lost afternoon play too, he stopped eating some of his lunch to get more time outside and finishes it at 4pm when we get home. I've also had the 'I don't want to go to school' and when asked, it's because it's not fund enough in the afternoons, 2.5hrs of work, work, work! I am working on an official complaint to the school, I think it's terrible!

Beth - That's exactly my fear, I don't want my DS to have nightmares. I've never been to a funeral myself, my parents wouldn't let me go before 18. I told my Ex I would take him and DS to the cemetary next weekend so they can greive together without the 'horror' of it all.

Ps. Very glad the police are taking it seriously. Lets hope they find out soon, and the culpret is held responsible x

  • Hello all, not been on this thread for a few days. Hugs to all who needs them.

O/S - Put a load of washing on the line as washing basket was overflowing this morning, forecast was rain however it is nice at the mo so hopefully it will dry. Have also just order £30 in Ask vouchers using £10 of MrT vouchers so that is my fiance's bday sorted in a couple of months for a treat, will still buy him a pressie.

We have been very good this week with food shopping only spent about £30 which is fantastic compared to our £50 budget and we have been known to spend more. It definitely helps cooking from scratch and he enjoys the food I make too. Would be good to keep this up and now healthy eating to lose weight.

Have a good weekend all, very glad it's friday.....

    Hello Everyone
Been MIA yet again. DS gone home but very unwell. Took an overdose the other day so all the attendant trauma just beginning to settle. I know I'm feeble but I just can't cope with it all anymore. Have been told to go on holiday (in just over a week) and leave my mobile at home. Am sorely tempted...
    Sorry, moan over!
JackieO I do hope Chloe's fitness test goes well today.
The lunchtime eating/ time for play thing is really difficult - some littleones seem to need the full hour to eat, others gobble quickly and are out. Lunchtime play can then seem endless, especially when the weather gets colder! ( And too long at play often leads to squabbles etc. Takes a while for the happy medium to be found!
This accident with the miners came as a real shock - thankfully we rarely have this sort of incident now - didn't realise we still had mines operating. Those poor families, knowing someone has died, but not who yet...
Must get myself motivated to DO something - would love to just crawl back into bed and put the covers over my head until the world has sorted itself out! have so much to do, but can't get started on anything. Washing is up to date - but not the ironing again. Lunch will be some HM soup from the freezer, supper will depend on whatever else I find in there!
Hope you all have a good day. Take care.

  • Hello all

((Hugs)) and positive vibes to all those in need.

Beth I finally caught up with the threads - -I hope your DD and her colleagues are feeling better and the police manage to get to the bottom of it all!

Finally it's Friday and my day off. Took big DD to school and then took little DD to the park straight away afterwards when it's not so crowded, and had a leisurely walk home via Home Bargains and The Works (I just can't help myself, there's no hope). Managed to get a couple more stocking fillers for the DDs and a birthday pressie for DD1's friend who is having a party next weekend.

I've just made a batch of HM tomato soup and will make a big batch of pasta sauce later for the freezer, which seems to be behaving itself again today. Dinner tonight will be chickpea and chorizo casserole (which is nicer than it sounds!) followed by yogurt and fruit.

It's a lovely sunny day here today so I am feeling mildly resentful about not having a WM. The new one arrives tomorrow so I'm hoping the weather will hold as there is a whole week's washing threatening to engulf my house...

    Have good days all

    Afternoon, all.

I've had one of these mornings where you run around crazy, look up...and it's lunchtime and you've only done half what you wanted or needed to do. I've done quite a lot but it's not enough. Put the washing on, hung up washing, stripped beds, washed bedding, hung up bedding, done a quick pick-up round the house, gone to Tesco, chemist and a charity shop. This last being because I saw a nice red cardigan for me yesterday, thought it would be too small so left it, got home and realised I had the same cardigan in grey which fits just fine and is a favourite. So I went back for the red one today too. £3 for a pure wool long line cardigan in a good colour for winter. I was pleased. :)

Also got a bit carried away with the BOGOF £4 chickens at Tesco...bought four yesterday and roasted one for dinner last night. Will have the remains tonight as a stir fry, plus soup tomorrow and freeze the scraps for sarnie filling ext week. Not bad for £2. So I bought another two and will joint four this afternoon, take off the breasts and legs and wings to freeze seperately and make a vast pan of well reduced stock to freeze too. Fifth chicken went in freezer whole for a roast. That's the meat for next month taken care of anyway.

Also need to make bread, wash the stairs and bathroom floor and hoover. (No handy children around this afternoon to do extra chores, alas.) Better get on with it, eh?

Good wishes for all who need them. Sometimes I think life is a bit dull here but then I remind myself that's good, nothing horrible happened to me or my family yesterday so I should remember to be grateful, eh?
    Val.

    Afternoon

Managed to get dogs walked, No1S dropped off at work, No2S dropped off at my mother's to sort out her printer before he went to college, back home and ready for my mother to come up and pick me up to go to the Gym by 9.30! Did forget to set WM going though.

Been hand baking bread for a few weeks as I found commercial bread makes my IBS a lot worse and my mother has offered to get me a Panasonic bread maker for my birthday :) Just as well really as my bread making skills are not great.

For those that have teenage troubles when No1S was at his worst (We did not realise he had Aspergers at this point) his psych told me that the fact he was horrible at home and towards me is a positive as they only act up and are difficult for people they trust not to leave them and that they know will love them no matter what. I hold onto that statement to keep what sanity I have left intact.

Right off to pick No1S up from work and as it was pay day yesterday I am doing a big shop. It does help that he works at a supermarket so I get 10% off :)
  • DD got on well at nursery. Bit the bullet and spoke to the school nurse (who'd come in to see us nursery mums about what she does) about looking into melatonin for DS. It was quarter to ten before he went off to sleep last night and quite frankly I am finding it all a bit of a strain. I have no idea if they'll consider it necessary for him to have it and there is a 3 month waiting list to be seen BUT at least we can go and find out what our options are.

Sodding cat has just tried to bring a live pigeon into the house, presumably to eat in comfort, via the cat flap. Thankfully it was all too wide to get through and I managed to get her off it. It's only lost a toe and has flown off so hope it's not going to die of shock any time soon because it will only end up being brought back in

Just seen on news that another miner has died :(:(:(

beemuzed - huge hugs for you.....really ought to put my whinging into perspective xxxx
