Hi there hoping someone can help - got this email i cut and pasted below a wee while ago saying i need to convert my membership - how legal is this as my initial contract with them was much better than the ones offered? I sogned up to it so does this not mean they have to abide by it?
there must be more founder member out there and less than 7 days to repsond!!!!
please advise as to my rights and what you would do if you were me...
thanks!
On 15th August we invited you, as one of our Founder Members, to convert your Founder Member deposit to two years' free membership of Zipcar and driving credit of £200 (valid for 9 months).
You now have only 7 days to take us up on the offer to convert your membership or, sadly, your account will be closed and your deposit returned, as your current account status will no longer be supported.
All you need to do is to this email by 22nd September 2011 and we'll activate your new Zipcar account. Alternatively, you can switch to become a standard member, start paying an annual fee now and have your deposit returned. Either way we need to know as soon as possible please.
As such a long standing member of the club, we really hope you accept our invitation and join us on the next leg of our journey.
Kind regards,
The Streetcar Team
15 August to 22 September is more than seven days isn't it?
You've been sitting on this for over three weeks already.0 -
I suspect this is a reminder letter/email - it says they contacted on 15th August and NOW there is only 7 days remaining. (Yesterday was the 15th too - of September).0

Wife got a text the other day saying price changes, I told her to ignore it thinking its a contract phone and the price
shouldnt change during the term.
But it does seem they are rounding the prices up, Mines exactly on the £ so shouldnt change, Wifes will go up 23p and
daughters will go up 8p.
Bit naughty though i think, As i took the plans out at a fixed rate £12.50 including VAT. Not £10.64+vat.
Now £1 more than the contracts should be. But my new contract is £50 cheaper than the oder one. SO still £4 less than a
few months back.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
just wanted to give you an update on how I was getting on. I have sent Vodafone 2 letters. The first giving them 2 weeks to respond, the second giving them another final week. They have received both letter (sent recorded) however have not responded to any of them.
I am just about to send them my third and final letter informing them that I have now stopped using my phone and paid my final bill.
Touch wood I think im getting somewhere as I've found quite a bit of information weighted toward the consumer having the right to cancel in this situation0 -
I wouldn't stop paying your bill if still in the contract term, varied from the original signature amount or not.
At £45 a month you wouldnt happen to have an iPhone and wanting the new one would you?0 -
-
if you stop paying your bill it could affect your ability to get another contract, with Vodafone or anyone - I would highly advise you keep paying until minimum term is up unless you can get Vodafone to agree in writing that you are excused from your remainding term.

I signed a 24 month contract so would 24 months not be the minimum term? In which case ill be free to leave anyway?0 -
yes, you'll be free to give notice or negotiate with Vodafone if you've already paid them 24 times - 30 days notice usually required - don't delete the DD your end till sure everything is resolved, much more hassle than its worth.
Don't expect much discount on a 4Gs though.0 -
only paid 17 times so have 7 months left.0
