Barclaycard - Awaiting Payment

  • After chasing them again on Friday I was told it was sent by BACS payment and it takes 3-5 days to process. I've literally just checked my account and the money is there :j:j:j

This is the last of my PPI claims to be paid out (just waiting on £96 from RBS) so my PPI journey has now come to an end :T:T

I would like to thank everyone on MSE for their invaluable help and advice. Thanks to you all I have wiped off £20K worth of debt as a lot of my creditors have accepted settlement figures for me paying them off early AND I've got enough to take my kids on their first holiday ever, now booked and fully paid for (thank you MBNA).

Good Luck to everyone, I wish you all great sucess on your PPI journey.

Let's spank these greedy b******ds and get back what's rightfully ours :D:D

  • Hi Guys

Some advice.... Barclaycard received my acceptance on the 11th August 2011 and I'm still waiting.

I have called numerous times to be fobbed off with it's in a queue waiting to be processed.

It's now week 9 waiting and I called them again. This was to be told that it should of been paid by now. I asked to speak with a manager and promised a call back within 72hrs. Didn't happen!!! Called again and spoke with staff again who informed me it has been passed to a manager for processing this has been placed into his work flow/queue. This may take a couple of weeks. That will make it over 2 months from receiving my acceptance. I still asked to speak to a manager just to get an answer to post on here.

I will let you know what I am told.

Advice from me is keep calling them !!!

  • Spoke with BC today and spoke with Richard Moir who is supposedly the manager. Mr vague albeit, very nice. He basically fobbed me off stating that it was still waiting clearance from Northampton to make the payment. When that would be he wouldn't confirm. Totally frustrated with being strung a long I contacted the financial ombudsman and lodge a complaint with them. They stated that nearly 10 weeks was totally unacceptable and will write to barclaycard threatening them to sort out my claim. How long this will take is anyone's guess. If anyone has been waiting more than 8 weeks make sure you lodge a complaint with financial ombudsman ASAP.

I have read all of the posts in this discussion and want to ask what kind of forms I need to fill for getting PPI payments back?
Where would I find these forms?
Can I refuse paying PPI, I mean can I just call them and say I don’t need it anymore?
I have Barclaycard since 2006 or 2007 and I didn’t know what was an ‘Optional protection payment’ that I’ve been seeing in my statements. I found out today and I’m furious. I’m pretty sure I was never asked whether I want to pay this insurance (since it’s optional) when I was offered this card.

    Thanks

Called Barclays today as it's 6 weeks since we returned the offer acceptance forms. Was told payment was made yesterday but will take 5 days to credit our account. Was also told a letter had been sent on 17/10 confirming this - we haven't received it yet.

Here's hoping what they've just said it true and if it is we've had a six week wait but we did chase payment after 4 weeks!
