    Most parents are not remotely interested. And I'm including highly educated, professional ones in that category, not those who aren't interested in their kids generally. It's good to have faith and confidence that our kids can do their homework to a high level of competence, without reminders or help. That is what the school expect, so I assume that's what my kids will do too. And guess what, they do.

    Why are you interested? Personally, I'd help with something specific if asked (11 year old had IT issues today for instance with vanishing images from her word document; I was of zero use and busy cooking tea!) but I think it's healthy to leave them to it, and not even look up online what their homework is! Unless they have specific learning difficulties, 'showing interest' in this way does kids no favours.
