Hi all :)

In this day and age, catching up with modern technology, there are quite a few books that are free (or very cheap) to download. No postage and packing costs and, since there are plenty of free ones - no harm done to your budget if you find that it doesn't fit your needs... just dump it :)

You don't have to buy a kindle either - there is FREE kindle for PC software available at Amazon.

(Please be aware though, that prices do change. So a book that may be free or very cheap at the time of posting may cost more if you are reading this thread some time after a given post has been made.)

So I thought it might be worth posting a list of our finds on Kindle and I will keep this first post updated as you all post links....

That's great!!! Thank you. I had never heard of that site. Mind you, I get an email every day with free kindle books to download.

Also, don't forget, if you buy a book (I haven't done so yet as I have about 100 free ones so far!!), you can share it with another Kindle user for free as long as you know their kindle's name!
    I think that is great!

So, for example, I just read Six Seconds by Rick Mofina ( I think that was the author). It was a free book a few weeks ago, but is now back on for the usual price of over £4.64. It was one of the best books I have read for ages, and I loooove a good thriller.
So, if anyone wanted to read it, PM me your Kindle name and I will pass it on!

Great idea for a thread! Here's one I downloaded yesterday, haven't had chance to look through it yet but as it was free thought it worth taking a chance on, it's called "The Cooks Oracle and Housekeepers Manual:-

  • Hi I have just downloaded some from the kolourbooks site for later to read cheers for the link.My kindle is great as I use it in the car while I'm waiting for the boys to come out of school it fits brilliantly in my bag better than an ordinary book but I still buy the 'normal' books as well as getting some from the library I am a total bookworm at times and I prefer it often to watching t.v.

  • I have a Sony e reader, it takes kindle books too (and does a few stuff I needed for uni) but I also love proper books too...

I will be keeping an eye on this and once I have a working laptop, my book reader will be bursting with books :)
