I've asked DH to buy me a Kindle for Christmas-he loves buying things like that. The only drawback is that he'll probably "play" with it himself and I won't be able to use it until he's gone back to work.

DD has one and I tried it out last week and think it would be so useful for travelling and times when I can't get to the library.
  • I love to read and said couldn't have one as you have to be able to turn a page and smell new books. My boss asked me a couple of weeks ago to order some for him, with the covers, on my Amazon account. On delivery day he had to pay me before he opened the box, as one was for me and another for our admin girl! To my huge shock, I am addicted to it, although I will never, ever, give up books, wonderful thing to travel with.

Went mad buying books the first day and got a delighted text from my colleague as she was getting them all free!

Myrtle is a great name for a Kindle!!!!!! They give it a name when you buy and register it, but you can change it to whatever you want.

Now you've got me thinking......I went for a really boring, useful name, but think I may change it to something more windswept and interesting!!!!!!

Oh, and I thought we were the only ones who named our household appliances! We have 2 fridge freezers ( a wee old one, and a newer, bigger one). The Whirlpool is called Eddy and the Bosch is called Harry ( the cop from all the Michael Connolly books!).

Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me with sending books I buy to another Kindle, I didn't know you could do this, it would be great if I could share with my mum. All I've been able to find from a google search is that the kindles would need to be registered to the same account?! Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you
  • Hi

Section 10 (if I remember rightly) of the Kindle guide explains about sharing books however, I don't think its been enabled in the UK unless both kindles are bought by the same registered amazon person, if you get my drift.

I was getting all excited about sharing books as I think my sister-in-law may be getting one however, in the forums on Amazon, its mentioned in there that you can't share books here.

However having said that, if its changed within the last couple of months, I stand corrected. :j
I got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.
