Err there was a whole hour episode when the rest of the house were 'bullying' her and telling her she wasn't cooking the chicken long enough.
It was a topical, relevant, and (hopefully) amusing comment
Though no doubt Gordon Brown will be in the house of parliment tomorrow claiming that I was being rascist*

Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.0 -

I have had cooks charged and later fined for the exact same thing.
See post #30 smart!!!!!.

I'm surprised they didn't refund your whole main course. Last time I went to a Brewer's Fayre (Aldershot), they lost our main course order, and when they eventually realised, they gave us a free round of drinks to try to make up for the extra wait - we didn't have to ask for this. Not the world's greatest restaurant but I was impressed that they apologised and tried to make up for it.
Write to Head Office to complain.
The Monkey Puzzle just up the road at Farnborough/Southwood is in a completely different league. We tend to go there 2/3 times a month and on a couple of occasions we have asked to see the manager to complement him on the quality of the staff.[size=-2] If this post was unhelpful, please tell me.

This letter arrived today from Whitbred.
It is always our intention to meet and exceed our guest's expectations with our offef through the quality of our food and service (?) I am sincerely sorry that at the time of your visit that this was not the case.
I was very concerned to receive details of your complaint and would like to apologise for the unacceptable service and sub-standard food you received on this particular day. I have followed up your concerns personally with the General Manager, XXX, at the XXXX. I can confirm that the service you recieved on 12th Jan was not a reflection of our usual standard of service and the team members have been spoken to and have been retrained into how to deal with customer issues properly. Actions have been taken by the Kitchen Manager to resolve the problems that occurred with your food and why the chicken was not cooked properly.
As a gesture of goodwill I have enclosed a voucher to the value of £10, which can be used at any Brewer's Fayre restaurant over the next six months. I do hope that I have managed to answer the issues you have raised and apologise again for the problems you encountered.
I am pleased to see that the complaint was dealt with in a timely fashion.
As Coral posted earlier, if the chicken had been delivered by the supplier undercooked this could have been a wider problem. So I am glad I brought it to their attention.Twins, twice the laughs, twice the fun, twice the mess!:j:j0 -
yeah-result.Read the t & cs though on the voucher lol.0

It was a decent letter and it's good they have taken some action.
Not very generous with the voucher though! You could have got them into serious trouble if you had reported them to the authorities, so you would have thought they would have offered at least twice as much.
Anyway, do you really want to eat there again?0 -

So they paid out £10 (which they'll offset against tax) as opposed to getting fined thousands for breaches of hygiene legislation and the resultant adverse publicity.
