Improperly cooked chicken at Brewer's Fayre

You really should inform your local health and safety officer anyway. As others here have pointed out this could have given you Salmonella which is not to be taken lightly. The fact that they were not falling over themselves to grovel to you over this is in itself worrying frankly. It suggests the dangers of what you were served are not being aknowledged let alone attended to. A vulnerable infant or elderly person could die.

This kind of incidence gives rise to food poisoning, which can be lethal in some cases. Enforcement agencies take a very dim view on matters like this, which indicate that the health and safety standards of such a restaurant is not what it should be.
It should not just be a matter of money and compensation, but one of public safety.
I dont see any sarcatic comments-Some people just get ignored0 -
i wa just about to quote a couple of those comments when I just got your meaning. quite right!Don't bother trying to sue me - I've got no money!0

I have emailed Brewer's Fayre to explain that I was not happy with the rather flippant attititude the staff took to what was a seriously undercooked piece of poultry (wish I'd taken a picture to show just how under done it was).
I seriously hope the 'chef' didn't honestly believe the rest of the meat would be ok when attched to a bone running with blood!
I chose to go to brewsters, like many other parents, as there is somewhere for the little uns to play and expel a bit of energy. The thought that this meat could have been served up to a young child is very worrying. Luckily I have an iron constitution!Twins, twice the laughs, twice the fun, twice the mess!:j:j0 -

Most of Brewers Fayre's (and similar chains) food is bought in pre-cooked; it's cheaper for the chain all-round as they don't have to pay a qualified chef, they can get away with employing anyone who can follow reheating instructions. Likewise, there's no fresh produce going to waste, it all sits in a freezer.
They've targetted a specific sector of the market and, generally speaking, they do what they do very well.
It's not for some of us though.
If it was pre cooked it would not have been bloody, would it.

You should report the incident to the Local Authority Environmental Health Department. They will visit the premises to make sure they are carrying out their legal obligations. The chef should have probed the deepest muscle on the chicken to ensure it had reached a sufficient temperature.
Raw chicken can kill the very young, very old or immunocompromised. The least I would have expected was the full price of that dish removed from the bill.
Sorry to be a bore,
best wishes

Hi,
Brewyers Fayre by us is always A* except were not overly keen on there updated menu.
Also at the top of the menu it says If your not happy with your meal we will replace it with any other main meal free of charge - No quibble
Thats really bad though! Try contacting Head office.0 -
That is bad.
I'm surprised they didn't refund your whole main course. Last time I went to a Brewer's Fayre (Aldershot), they lost our main course order, and when they eventually realised, they gave us a free round of drinks to try to make up for the extra wait - we didn't have to ask for this. Not the world's greatest restaurant but I was impressed that they apologised and tried to make up for it.
