Is the base unit firing up? Was the monitor working before? Can you try the monitor on another unit or try another monitor on your new one?
I have nothing better to do!!!!

Just a quick one, some manufactures set the bios cmos jumpers to clear when they ship their boards, if this was the case with yours you will not get anything until you move the jumper across

Could you please tell us which components you have purchased? the make and model of everything going into the system?
Also, have you ever built a system before, I know the first few times can be a little daunting
Most common errors are a faulty part, incorrect wiring, or just not having reset the BIOS before starting it up

Check in your motherboard manual, on one of the pages it will tell you which pins to set the CMOS jumper to to reset, and put back to normal.0

Also, one quite simple one. Have you hooked up the power switch, reset switch etc... correctly to the motherboard. If not they then won't function correctly.
Mistake I sometimes make when building a new machine, or the instructions aren't very clear."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0
