Thank you! I did take the mouldy bit off. My partner is now sat eating it (i didn't tell him lol) I will risk it in a bit, thank you x0

Once it's been cooked in the oven any bacteria will long be gone anyway - no need at all to worry. Remember, most fresh food and even the plates you're serving the meal on will have far more bacteria naturally than any piping hot food!0

Bit of penecillin never hurt anyone, unless of course your allergic?
Doubt anything would have survived being in the oven, but test it on your dh just to make sure.0 -
I have a packet of m&s smoked bacon in fridge. use by date was 11th august
Can I still eat it? looks normal colour in the packet (this is their outdoor reared vac packed bacon rather than big tub protective atmosphere bacon if that makes any difference?)
Totally forgot about it, was under a packet of chorizo :mad:0 -
If it looks alright and smells alright it probably is alright.
If it makes you violently ill it was probably off.0 -
Eat it!!!
But over-cook it rather than under-cook!0 -
I have a prepacked stir fry which use by date was today - will I be safe to cook it tomorrow or should I cook it now and freeze it? Thanks!0

I wouldn't. SOme foods past their date I would use, but 'fresh' meat isn't one of them. It isn't about saving money, it's about stopping being ill."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
