Hi folks,
I bought a chicken on Friday and jointed it and put the pieces in a sealed container in the fridge, my questions are
How long can i keep this chicken before it is no good?
If i marinate it tonight will it still be ok tomorrow?
If i cook it today how long will it keep?
Thanks for any advice.:j Started my weightloss journey, its neverending!! :j

I wouldn't keep chicken more than 3 days in a fridge (if I jointed it on Friday I would have frozen what I wanted to keep and cooked the rest on the day).
I would marinate and cook it tonight. Once it's cooked, I would leave in the fridge for 5 days but only take out the portions I would eat that day. I don't reheat anything I won't eat that day.
Sniff the chicken, if it starts to smell off, I would bin it.0 -
Hi, thanks for that, it does not smell and it isn't slimy. Have some cooking now to eat tonight so i think i will just freeze the breasts til later in week. Thanks again.:j Started my weightloss journey, its neverending!! :j

is there anything i can do with this. its natural yogurt not been opened 2nd sept0

Taste it - it may still be ok! I find opened yoghurt often keeps a week after it's use by date, so unopened may keep longer0

I've posted about this before, but would like your input on these specific items, please
Clearing out the fridge this morning, I've set the following items out to go into the cupboard as I don't feel they need to be in the fridge although some say so. Will they be ok in the cupboard even if they're not used often?
Colemans Mustard
Wholegrain Mustard
Garlic Mustard
Ketchup - Brown Sauce & BBQ Sauce
Branston Pickle
I've made sure to keep anything that's not "vinegary" or with egg/dairy ingredients in the fridge. I've had to do something as our entire top shelf (and we only have 3!) was taken over by sauces/spreads etc...
Thanks for your views, I just don't want anyone becoming ill because of my "clearout"!
As a side note, I have a jar of Gherkin slices in the fridge which says that after opening, use within 3 days  These have been used a few at a time for well over 2 months now, so is it just a gimmik or have we just been extremely lucky?
Thanks again everyone!0
