Whatever did our grandmothers do when there weren't any dates on food?
If there are any bacteria present in the raw meat, then they will be killed when it's cooked thoroughly. If it has spoiled (and spoilage bacteria are not necessarily pathogenic) then taste it once it's cooked and decide what to do.

What kind of mince is it? Pork/Beef/Steak?If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

If it smells ok, use it. Taste it after. My (now ex) wife used to be a butcher.. she'd cook meat even I turned my nose up at to begin with. I'm still alive.. and it usually tasted amazing!
Don't waste it. 100 years ago they didn't have 'best before/use by' dates, they just made a judgment call.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

If the meat has been chilled ever since it was bought there's no reason to think that it has become spoiled, especially since it smells OK. I'd cook and eat it without a moment's thought. The proper way to treat fresh meat is to hang it, often for quite along time at slightly below room temperature and I doubt your mince has had that, so storing it in the fridge for a couple of days past the use-by date should equate to the same thing.0

Beef/Steak mince will be fine for a good few days after the best before/use by dates. Infact when I get Steak or Steak mince, I always leave it past the use by date as it usually tastes better...
Never do the same for pork mince though, it wouldn't be a good idea...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands
