Hello
Can I ask for some fly-lady coping vibes please
I have to see my job centre advisor this afternoon and she has already upset me on the phone this morning by talking down to me as if I was something she trod in. At our last meeting she was very snooty despite me doing everything I should and being very pleasant to her (god it was hard ) But I ended up in tears on the way home and now I'm getting in a big state about it againIt's unusual for me I'm usually pretty strong and I don't know why this woman appears to have taken against me.
Should I clear the air before we speak do you think? Maybe I said something to upset her (can't think what, but it could be). I feel sick.*If you have nothing nice to say... say nothing*"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." Martin Luther King Jr0 -

Nah. Some people are just like that. There's nothing you can do to change their attitudes, all you can do is not antagonise them further - or not give them grounds to be extra strict on you.
You'll be fine - just remember, she has to work there and deal with good people, bad people and all the people inbetween, and quite likely hasn't got a particularly secure job herself/is jealous of your qualifications that you have earned fair and square - plus she's got a face like she's been slapped in it with a bedpan.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

Bonnie when Mr LW was out of work, some of the JobCentrePlus staff were like that with him; others were as nice as pie.
I think, in some cases, they get so used to dealing with the people who don't want to try and help themselves, that they can't switch off the "attitude" when they get a client who does do everything they can, iyswim.
It's hard not to take it personally (I know, because Mr LW was quite flummoxed by the attitude some of them took with him), but trust me, they'd be like it with anyone, possibly excluding royalty.
Good luck, and remember non carborundum illegitematus (don't let the barstewards grind you down).;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
