I have a new car!!!
:T:T:T
I must go on FB and apologise to everyone who lives along the M74, M6 corridor. It started to rain/sleet/snow in Glasgow at lunchtime, and turned into a blizzard. The weather then just followed me all the way home.
I may put a photo of the shiny, lovely car on FB. It came without a manual though, so although the basic driving stuff is fine, it will take me ages to work out stuff like the automatic phone answering thingy.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Congratulations again!
Can't you contact them about the manual tho? Some of this stuff isn't intuitive at all, and some of it, you just need a "this sign means that" - you *can't* figure it out ...2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
KC, apparently because its leased they don't send manuals as they get 'mislaid', but went on to the Ford website and downloaded one quite easily. Save paper too!
Pottering day, need to find some oomph!Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Nice to hear you are getting a new car and fuel card - that should help - especially with all the mileage you do. How's DS doing in terms of getting employment - any movement?Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi sh - yes having the fuel card will make a big difference to cash flow as I won't be spending £200+ and claiming it back.
DS is on a 4 week training course at the moment 'reach and grab' or is it 'grab and reach' - anyway its the starter for a fork lift truck course and he can get help with taking his driving test once he's done it.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Can I just say, I really, really love my new car!
It's a slightly bigger engine than the hire car, but much, much more powerful, which somehow makes me feel safer. And as its got some sort of eco credentials I feel like I'm being good.
Payday tomorrow, so next months budget being planned.
Claim for expenses has gone in £320 - in future this will work a bit differently because of the fuel card, but still need to work it out.
Also need to contact HMRC, but its probably not a good week to be doing it.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Thats really nice about feeling safer - drivers have often said to me about being able to accelerate if the situation warrants it?2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Yes, KC - its a combination of sitting a bit higher in the car, and having better all round vision, and the power to move quickly if you need to.
Have been out for a meal tonight in Edinburgh, so that's weightwatchers out of the window for this week!Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0
