We don't want it to go too fast though, we are hoping for any time after the 1st of December, that way we'll have a couple of months at home to save for any extras.

In my eyes 1st December would be very quick, we are not expecting to be moved before Christmas, but if we are, then it will be a bonus. If we completed mid December, we would put off moving in until the New Year, it would also be good to get some jobs on the house ie new fireplace and front door, before move in, much less hassle than having it done when we are in there. :rotfl:

The sellers have no chain and they don't want to drag out the sale, they did mention 6 weeks, but I would prefer December... if we move in at the beginning of the month when would our first mortgage and council tax payment be due?0 -
Four years ago we accepted an offer on 10th October and completed on 30th November, so it is definitely do-able. But.......our buyers were cash-buyers who were not relying on the sale of their house to buy ours and the vendors of the house we were buying were going into rented. Also we had no mortgage to arrange, but although we thought it unlikely we'd be in before Christmas and had said that if completion was looking likely to be after the beginning of December we'd rather wait till the New Year to move, it all went through surprisingly quickly..........although it was logistically a nightmare for various other reasons
Sorry I'm not sure about your mortgage question, but good luck with your moveMortgage-free for fourteen years!

I'm not sure re your mortgage and council tax payments, sorry. We are cash buyers (money's in the bank), the house the seller is buying, apparently the vendor of that also owns a flat, so can move into that, we are not certain on all the exact details though, but there's the potential to complete quickly, BUT having not long sold a property to a buyer who was not selling but renting out their property, what we thought would be fairly quick turned into 4 months, mainly due to their VERY slow solicitor, so we are being open-minded at the moment!0 -
The banks (Natwest) surveyor viewed the property and he has agreed with the valuation!!! WooHoo!
So now we just need to instruct our solicitor for him to move things along, he won't have started any searches yet but we hope to move in within the next 6 weeks.

Congrats, hope oit all goes smoothly for you. We've just agreed a price today. Down to £137500 from an asking price of £145000. Just got to get my head around what happens next!0

I've given our solicitors details to the estate agent today and need to call the bank tomorrow to arrange to see them again. We're going with Natwest too.0
