This comfirms why i never let my wife any where near the negotiations when we bought..they fall in love with a pile of bricks where i see just bricks..
Well said, It was due to my fiancee telling me to "ring or I will", that made us show our hand... Otherwise we'd be in a stronger position.0 -
Ha Ha Ha ... you are a weak man and doomed to pay whatever your girlfriend tells you to!!
I wear the trousers in my house - you can see then quite clearly beneath my pinnie!!
Anyway, if you would have paid £133k a few months ago nothing has changed .... if you really love the place you may just need to pay what is required (although I hate buyers that pay close to asking! It makes it very hard for us offering 15% OFF!)Bringing Happiness where there is Gloom!0 -

I know I am,we're yet to hear from the EA, I believe that they think we will increase our offer again, it's not going to happen this time. Honest:rotfl:0 -
Hope it comes through for you. We've made 3 offers on a house in the last 2 weeks, but our final offer was still refused, we waited 5 days to get the answer on the final offer. We are holding firm now, and have said that's it, we won't be making any more offers, and it will be interesting to see if the vendor comes back and changes their mind about our final offer, it's enough to drive you to the looney bin, this house buying lark! :rotfl:0

I've not heard back from the EA, so we're just going to leave it, we both agree that £127k is a fair price. Whether the owners agree or not is another matter, bet hey ho.0 -
Yes your offer is more than fair in this market. I am still intrigued as to why no link? Come on! Dish the property details0

haha, can't do that sorry, just in case I've offended anyone, I'd hate to jeopardise the purchase. I will share a link when and if it goes through or if it doesn't for that matter.0 -
I'm trying to convince my fiancee that we should save for longer if this purchase fails, trouble is she really likes this place and I agree it is really nice. I would be happy to save for another 5 months at which point we would have a 15% deposit and the chances are, this place could still be on the market.
Oh well, still no contact from the EA and i'm not making the first move this time.0 -
Thanks for updating I have been reading with interest. Let us know when you hear something!0

How about a bit of hard ball when they call back and accept your offer? "Sorry, I'll confirm that later as we have since found another property which we are going to view for a second time in a couple of days which is a little cheaper, so we'll let you know when we have decided". Keep them on their toes for a while instead. And you could do something similar if they call back to reject your offer.
Far too many people with unrealistic expectations. One property we viewed a week ago or so was £10k more than the property we put an offer on and we fed this back to their EA. Imagine my surprise to see that they have responded to this feedback by *upping* their price by £5k.
The mind boggles.0
