Can I get away with firing a BB gun at children?

I'm not sure about the BB gun, but I'm well in favour of the water balloons filled with (smartprice!) custard, or other unpleasant but ultimately harmless substances. An assortment balloons filled alternately with water and flour, all launched at once, allegedly also works well if old american college-comedy films are to be believed. It's the modern equivalent of tarring and feathering. Maybe put up a few laminated A4 signs warning the neighbourhood that people causing trouble will be pelted with various food substances, and if your kids come home covered in such, that's why...

Just be sure they don't see where the balloons are coming from! Maybe get one of those plastic launchers (like a cross between a crossbow and a slingshot) so you can just point it out of a toilet slot-window or something instead of having to hurl them through big obvious apertures.

I think being surrounded and verbally abused by feral chavlings is a bit more intimidating than just being called fat and being pregnant is an emotional time for many women.

I think one idiot saying that the OP was fat in a shop, when her husband was there and her being called fat when walking past a group of kids, is slightly different to being surrounded and verbally abused.

IMO it is all just an over exaggeration, by an emotional pregnant woman as you put it.

Could probably be easily solved by either ignoring the kids or telling them to grow up.

Nope, I haven't stood up for myself really. I've seen these kids kick off, I have no intention of having the sh*t kicked out of me by 10-15 chavlets at 32 weeks pregnant.

So far you have been called fat, that's it.

I've hardly over-exaggerated. At no point have I claimed to have been threatened etc. I have, however, witnessed (and reported) these kids bricking the windows on the local community centre.
I've also seen them kicking the crap out of another kid who they obviously knew from school or something, which is why I haven't, as yet, stood up to them.
You may think that being called fat is quite simple and easy to ignore, but it's embarrassing and degrading when you've got a big group of kids taking the !!!!.
My brother was here about half an hour ago, and I gave him some money to go down to the shops and buy himself some sweets or a magazine. My dad heard something kicking off outside, and it turns out all the kids were shouting "!!!!!!" at my brother, who had gone into the Co-op. My dad went down to wait for my bro so he wouldn't be so frightened coming out.
It's not just what they say, it's the way that such a large group of them descend upon one person and pick on them. It's intimidating and unpleasant.
As I said, I haven't bothered making any official complaints to the police etc because I know that the kids haven't actually threatened me etc, they're just irritating little !!!!!! who need some manners beating into them

No one should have to suffer ANY kind of intimidation or verbal abuse. The fact they are aiming the abuse at a pregnant woman says an awful lot about them IMO.

Keep the moral high ground, write down all times and details of any incidents you witness, including drunk/noisy etc etc. Keep pestering the police and council regarding the anti-social behaviour and all the info you have. Eventually they will have to do something about it.

Any kind of confrontation in your state is a terrible idea. Stay well clear.

I think it's legal provided you only fire at the buttocks or some other non-essential area. Faces and whatnot are a definite no-no. HTH :)
