Can I get away with firing a BB gun at children?

  • I remember when I lived with my parents there was a group of older kids who would gather near the shops across the road from our house. They'd play music, shout, scream and generally cause a disturbance. My Dad and a couple of others would see parents, confront them, yell at them etc. but nothing worked. My Dad called the police a few times and their reply was usually "there's no one in the area, we've had no other complaints, the noise isn't that bad." They were USELESS. So I my Dad questioned whether they'd turn up if he went over with a baseball bat, they eventually got the message. It reminds me of this:

I'm sorry to hear about the OP's problems. Sometimes it really is just best to ignore the kids. They want a rise out of you, so don't let them win. When you have your baby make sure you bask in the cuteness and the attention it'll get from passers, especially when the little gits are close by.
  • I would also call the police until they moved on for good. :-)

Honestly oh his mate and brother all got arrested and banged up for the night.
So i would definetly think of another way to deal with it :)

OR give the vermin a taste of that."hello police? Theres a number of youths on the road outside and I think I saw one of them with what LOOKS like a gun! no I dont want to give my name im just a concerned citizen".If nothing else plod may find some drugs or something on the vermin. Next time if your pestered do it again.

Get on to the police and council. They have powers to stop groups of people gathering around place like you are describing.
I wouldn't confront them in your condition and if your husband did it, then its only going to lead to more problems for your family.

I would definitely go down this route... And be persistant with the authorities until they do something.
“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”
  • We had a similar problem - groups of teens hanging around the bus stop over the road and vandalising it. Every time it happened I phoned the police as soon as they started and they would come and chase them. After a while they didn't bother hanging around as they knew sooner or later they would get shifted. You can ask them not to call on you so the little darlings don't know it was you that reported them too.

good idea, could say you saw a knife or some other weapon but a gun is a good option

    Good idea...?

We have not had any riots for a month or so and I was getting bored.....

Seriously, a false report of a suspected firearm is not advisable.

I work in a secondary school with a lot of lads that could fit this description - a menace to society. Anyways, there was one that's been recently kicked out but before he did, him and his friends decided to smash the windows of a house where someone had reported him to the police. He travelled all the way there and smashed the car windows instead. But got the wrong house and car. The owner came out with some of his mates and grabbed this kid and put him up against a wall with a brick in the other hand. Suddenly this little youth wasn't so "hard" anymore, instead of hitting him with the brick though, they threw him into the back of the car and drove him to the police station.

That kid must have p*ssed himself wondering where they were going to take him. How relieved must he have been when he saw the police station and not some back alley. I don't know what happened to the bloke who did this. I'd shake his hand but no doubt he got done for kidnapping or something similar.

That kid didn't do it to him again, that I'm pretty sure of.

OP, I hope you get it sorted, just to let you know, these kids are wimps on their own, it's pack mentality and the way I get round it is to remind them how hard they are to pick on a small lady. Silly kids.
i before e, except when you run a feisty heist on a weird beige foreign neighbour

    Short answer No.

But a good response could be
"I not fat, I'm pregnant but you're ugly.
Soon I'll have have a beautiful baby and you'll still be ugly"
    (paraphrasing a well know quote)

Winston and Lady Astor had some very good verbal altercation but this is one of the best and Ive used it many times.
