Its your fault for not sending it to somewhere where someone was in.

So because he was't in, the driver is perfectly welcome to not ensure the ticket is pushed through the door??

Whether it was purposely left on the street or not, the fact remains the driver didnt ensure it was pushed through the letterbox.

Its all our fault as if we arent in then we should expect tickets to be chucked on the floor. I'm sorry, I didn't realise that was standard procedure.

Ordered some items from an online store about a week and a half ago, and they use DPD.

Anyway I live in a flat on the second floor and was coming home yesterday. I get to the gate and due to a clicking noise on my bike happened to look down and notice my name on what I assumed was rubbish on the ground. As it turns out it was two failed delivery notices.

Basically the moron who is employed by DPD couldn't even be arsed to enter the common close and post them through my door instead thinking these notices would be better placed blowing around in the street outside.

To add insult to injury because I don't regularly check the street outside for my mail these notices are more than four days old so my items has been returned to the sender. The sender is now trying to charge for another delivery.

I know delivery men aren't the brightest people on the planet but DPD seem to employ idiots with less brain power than an amoeba.

Well done DPD you !!!!ing !!!!s!

Ordered 4 Goodyear tyres from OPONEO in Poland at a saving of £26 each over UK prices.

DPD picked up in Poland and delivered 4 days later in Yorkshire.

Full online tracking allowed me to see the whole delivery route and told me the day they were on the van for delivery.

Very impressed with DPD and OPONEO !

Glad you had a good experience, I on the other hand wont be using them again, obviously your driver had a few more brain cells than the one employed where I live.
  • RichGold, if you are involved in any way with delivering parcels to domestic addresses, please inform us of the courier/s you work for. That way we can all avoid your bone headed aggressive attitude towards your customers.
After all, according to you, the whole world should alter it's standard working day and move to evenings to allow people to be in when you are at work delivering. Anyone who actually blames the customer for not sitting alertly by the door during an entire delivery range of 'anytime in the next 3 -5 business days' is barking mad.
DPD have for me so far:
Failed to deliver parcels and given no notice in any form.
Delivered my parcels to people living 6 houses up my street, even when I've been outside the front of my house washing the car.
Delivered a PC that had been so badly bashed around during transit it actually had a snapped motherboard.
Returned packages to the seller saying I'd refused delivery, when I'd never seen any sign of a delivery man - only for their customer services to later claim the delivery man couldn't read the address on an Amazon package so sent it back!
If the drivers in my area all have your attitude RichGold, then I can understand how this could happen so often, as they're obviously already aggravated enough to be determined to provide as appalling a service as possible before they even leave the front door of their own house.
If you are one of these people RichGold, then may I suggest a change of profession, preferably to something that involves no contact whatsoever with other human beings. You see, the delivery of parcels is all about providing a service to customers. If they pay for the service it should be provided. If you find it impossible to provide anything near that service without complete intolerance of those customers and a total contempt for the aims of the service, then it is obviously not for you.

I'll bet a quid(hey I'm Scottish) they tucked the card in the edge of the buzzer fascia/door

The totally obvious answer and yet some people are too stupid to even consider it, thinking the driver plays paper airplanes with the cards from his van window.

I get parcels delivered from DPD, almost on a weekly basis, and I get given the tracking number for my parcel, can track it on the DPD website, and on there it even gives me a 1 hour time slot for when the driver will be here (obviously worked out when his vehicle is loaded), never yet had a problem with them.

Some of us have work. Unlike you skiving drivers I can't take days of when ever I like. There are systems in place for failed deliveries, leaving the notices in the street isn't one of them.

Obviously you are too stupid to realise this and thats probably why you drive a van for a living.

    Ouch......

I've only had one item delivered by DPD but what you say was true for mine as well. I couldn't be in when the driver delivered but asked for it to be left with a neighbour. The driver did as he was asked and left a note telling me he'd left it with the neighbour. It was the most trouble-free delivery I've had from a courier. Other people at work have had good experiences with DPD as well. I still prefer Royal Mail though!
