However, how can they say we have been abusing the promotion? All we did was go onto their website and voila, it shown up as 1p each way. Infact, how did the 2nd link where you don't need to put any details in of previous journeys come about anyway?

Well, the promo, I believe said that you had to have already travelled recently with Ryanair. The fact that their booking system was crap and allowed any Tom, !!!!!! or Harry to book is neither here nor there.

If you turned up at the airport and Ryanair said p1ss off, then you wouldn't have a leg to stand on. You only recourse would be the courts and to be honest you'd lose. Ryanair don't care about bad publicity only profits.

Don't get me wrong, I've booked a day trip to Dublin for next Saturday and I'm hoping it all goes well, but I'm waiting to hear from someone who has travelled before I go to check in.

Do we know of anybody who has gone away today? Or going tomorrow?

What are they going to see on their computers though when we check in? Surely their screens will just show that we've booked and paid and the people at the desks won't see the whole details of the transaction?
  • I'll be going to Dublin from Edinburgh on the 3rd for a day trip with my sister and son.

I wouldn't fly on Ryanair not even for free.

Well as I can fly from Newquay to Stansted to visit my parents for about a quarter of the train fare I'm afraid I'll be sticking with them. Apart from the odd cancellation due to fog which they can't control I've always found them fine, unlike the trains!!
  • I'd be quite careful about this deal, they may decide to charge or refuse your fight on the return leg of your journey!!!

to manually check millions of bookings would take a great deal of time and effort - given that the emphasis on cost cutting is critical, cant see Ryanair hiring temps to work it through.

Also the website makes it automated. the link where we dont have to put in a credit card number is the same screen (and link word for word) after i entered my girona booking and card number - therefore I can see how it will be reported.

Furthermore, given that Ryanair are still working off lists and manually filling out boarding cards, the system isnt very slick.

I am sure it will be fine.

As a matter of interest... I just went to the Ryan Air website. (https://www.ryanair.com) to find some information. On the front page is a link for the 'free flights'. I read the info, all seems fine. However having 5 kids under 8 I do not really want to turn up and have it all go wrong. So I decided to see how much the flights would have been without the link provided.
So out of interest on the front page (the main front page) to the left hand side is a place to input destination/flying from dates etc. I input the date I have booked (previously paid for 2 adults 5 kids following previous link in post 128) and the return I have booked Bristol-Dublin. I clicked on 'search cheap flights' It lead to me flights that cost 1p. Exactly what I purchased-but without inputing any previous info or details. The cheap flights I was offered were a penny.

  • My brother flew to Dublin on Saturday for the day, no problem flying out, but when he returned he was told there was a problem with his booking being made with a false code and he was charged full price to return.
