Danyúl_II wrote:So when we booked it confirmed to us "No taxes/charges" etc etc - Are they actually allowed to state that to us before we press "Confirm purchase" and then demand extra payment from us after we've confirmed?
Seems very dodgy if they are allowed to do so..
Right, some people are getting confused here. This promotion includes all taxes and charges in the price except for credit card fees. Therefore anyone purchasing a ticket on this promotion will not have to pay any taxes when they get to the airport. However, if you have abused a promotion, Ryanair are quite within their right to cancel your ticket and refund your purchase in full. I would not put this past Michael O'Leary, as he is not scared of bad publicity. So, I would probably not book any accommodation or incur any extra expense until you've had some feedback from people who have actually turned up at the airport and taken their flights.
With regards to people who have booked flights prior to Gordon Brown's announcement of the increase of APD from 1St Feb, any airline is entitled to charge you the extra money, as it is merely collecting the tax on behalf of the Treasury. I believe British Airways is the only company that is stumping up the cost themselves.0 -

Scared that flights maybe cancelled, how can they take off at 1p per person!!!
im staying at a youth hostel. its costing me about £9 a night with my membership. should be a laugh...or a nightmare in an 8-bed dorm:rotfl:
oooh the irish dancing sounds funmind you, we might need to wear our extra clothes, and put our toiletries in our hand luggage that fits 55cm x 40cm x 20cm without luggage allowance lol. I know what you mean about cancellations tho...i wont get my money back on the hostel accommodation if they do

However, how can they say we have been abusing the promotion? All we did was go onto their website and voila, it shown up as 1p each way. Infact, how did the 2nd link where you don't need to put any details in of previous journeys come about anyway?
I don't want to have to wait too long before booking accommodation, as hostels in Frankfurt (where I have booked the flights to) generally fill up pretty quick.. therefore the idea of a cheap holiday may be defeated if I have to wait a week to see if they will honour the flights..
Any guesses?0 -

The only way of knowing if this will be honoured is when someone actually goes and comes back without any problems and reports back."He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,
He will kill your cat and nail him to the door"
