thanx for all your suggestions , i will update .
I realised late on Sat that the anniversary was not on sun but on monday . I am hopeless sometimes .
I got a book from the library for her . A really nice card for 89p , it said what i wanted to say already printed in it .
I got some factory mis shapes out of Thorntons for £1.99 , as she loves Thorntons chocolate.
Also the fruit and veg stall was selling big bunches of flowers for £2.00 , she was over the moon with the flowers as there was 3 big white roses in with them .
I'd blown the budget but 'she's worth it (lol)
I went in the loft looking for a vase and found the cutlery set we'd had as a wedding present(that I'd forgotten we had), so set the table with loads of forks and spoons and placemats and candles .
I cut up some strwaberries and put them in bowls in the fridge with sugar on for later .
We had a lovley meal when the kids were in bed , everything was fine 'till I offered to take her up the multi storey ......
my favourite food is spare ribs

It's amazing how many OHs don't realise that birthdays, anniversaries and Christmas are quite predictable and can be planned for in advance!

Always remember a friend whose Oh was lovely but useless at occasions. He was really proud one year when he actualy remebered to get her an anniversiery card and flowers........ Unfortunately when she opened the card it said HAPPY BIRTHDAY on the front :rotfl:. Still it gave her, her mum, MIL and jus about every woman she knew a brilliant laugh men eh!

I would be happy with OH doing all my jobs for the day and letting me have a rest ie look after the kids-do the school run and all the meals-tdiy around and clean up-do some ironing etc etc. Meanwhile I could have a relax, and a lovely long bubble bath.

How about a "mums day off" voucher, where she gets a day when you and te kids do everything and she gets to rest/bath/watch her fav film on tv/read her fave book in peace.

For most women this would make them so happy they might just be in the mood for ahem "daddies present" later on rofl.

    Ali x

Opps looks like from the dates the day is long gone doh!
