Was the medical for ESA or DLA?
Sorry if I missed where you say.:o
It's just you say you get Carer's Allowance so in order for you to be getting this, he must be getting DLA so I wasn't sure if it was an ESA or DLA medical.
As I said, apologies if you're already mentioned it. I have brain fog so the slightest thing isn't registering in my brain at the moment.:o2019 Wins

im sorry - i dont think i put it, ive also got brain fog lol......im really not together at the moment trying to work this out and knowing i cant do anything till after the weekend....
it was for the ESA medical with ATOS.......yes, he gets DLA and i get carers for caring for him..........so, does that mean ill carry on getting my carers for him and wont lose that too?.....all i can think of at the moment is to work nights then i can be with him all day while my daughter who lives at home is at university and then have her watch him at night while i work - unfortunately, that means her doing things for her dad no daughter should have to do but, it cant be helped...
If he still gets at least middle rate care DLA, then your Carers Allowance should be safe.
With Carers Allowance, you can only earn upto £100 a week after tax though. Any more than that and I think that you won't get it. If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will come along to tell me off but that's how I understand it.2019 Wins

god, it sounds like your experience was worse than ours hun, sorry to hear that. They make you feel like second class citizens dont they? not like you ever wanted to become ill and give up work and spend days and days of pain and not able to fend for yourself. My partner had a brilliant job before he got ill and i had a good career too but gave it up to look after him - they think everyone is after freebies and treat us the same. I hope youve sorted yours out hun...0

lifes a buzz eh?.......fight, fight, fight for a pittance.........we had the option at the very beginning of my partners fight to sue as part of his illness was made worse by a botched hip replacement - if theydve not gone ahead when they noticed his disease hedve had many more working years ahead of him, but, the surgeon carried on and ruined his life..........i kick myself we didnt sue but, hey you cant live on regrets........thanks for your help and good luck with everything..........x0

First thing Monday morning ring them and ask them to give you their reasons in writing for the decision and ask for a reconsideration. I would also follow this up with the requests in writing sent recorded delivery so they have no excuse to say they didn't receive the request. There is a time limit on asking for this so get on with it asap.
Did you get written evidence of his conditions/illnesses from his Dr/Specialists or anyone else involved with his care e.g. nurse to send with the ESA form? If not start asking for these to be done asap. If your Dr says in his opinion your H cannot work then ask him to write a letter saying this and the reasons why.
Once you have their written decision reasons go through each one with a fine toothcomb and write down your reasons showing evidence/examples as to why you think they are wrong. Give examples of how this affects his life etc. I wrote a typical daily diary about the care/what happens during the day/night to show that my H couldn't work. The more detail you can give to show the reasons he is unable to work the better.
When you have all the above ready for his reconsideration evidence copy it all and email over to your MP and make sure you tell the DWP that you have contacted them.
PM me if you want. Above all don't panic.

I also forgot to say that to be put in the support group he will have to fit descriptors for this. You can get some free info from here

You might also be better posting this on the benefits and tax credit forum on this site where you will also be able to read more about ESA medicals.0 -
