Hi toni and welcome to the thread!!! You're doing great so far, well done you.

OMG that dress is absolutely stunning and the neckline is very like mine! You have good taste :D:D How much is it and have you tried it on yet?

thats just it though, i saw it in the local wedding magazine and got all excited :) because its exactly what i'd been looking for, so i phoned up the stockists and theres none in my county :( so i would have to go miles to get to a shop with it in but probably for the best though because i think it was rather expensive :) so now i just need to find one just as nice......

on a better note, i really wanted the little slate hearts on a bit of twine to go round the knife and forks as name tags and the guests can take them home too, but they seemed really expensive around £15 for 4 and i need around 70! for the day guests but then my dad said he could make them! he has lots of slate he can use, fingers crossed they turn out alright :j

    Hi Toni,

I planted lavender in my garden as late as September and only died off in Dec (quite sheltered, but in Yorkshire so quite chilly! lol) so think should be ok to use it. Grown your own perhaps?

Sorry I've been neglecting this thread for the last few weeks, I've been sooo busy IRL.

    So, progress to date:

We've booked our car! Yay! It's a really fab vintage Rolls Royce Silver Shadow and I love it.

I've had another appointment with the florist and am very excited about his plans for the wedding, he is a star :D

We've also booked our church music and are currently trying to decide what hymns/instrumental pieces to have.

I've been in touch with our band and am very excited about them! They are going to be amazing.

I'm currently writing the script for our invitations.

Oh and I put on more weight and had a lightbulb moment and am currently doing my best to lose it and more! The target is 8st 9lbs - I'm currently 10st 4lbs with 20 weeks and 2 days to go.

    Wahoo!

Oh, that's fab!! What a talented dad you have! :T

Shame about the dress, have you found another one that you love? Don't dwell on the first one - it may have looked better on the page than in real life! I found that some of the styles I thought would be perfect didn't suit me at all. :A

Your car is flippin ace! You will have some lush photos with that! We bought a tandem off ebay the other day, hopefully going to ride it from the church to the reception!

Aw, thanks Robinred! It's sooo lush inside, all cream leather and REAL walnut dashboard! I'm going to feel like a film star sitting in it!

Ahhhhhhhh, a tandem!!!!!!!!!!!!! *squeals* :j I loooove tandems! Post a pic of it so I can see! You're so lucky being able to do that! Our church and reception venue are about 40 miles apart so at least we'll get our money's worth from the wedding car lol.

OH suggested a vintage Vespa - yeah right! For ONE DAY in my life I want my hair to look perfect and travelling 40 miles on a scooter would destroy it! :rotfl:

  • Ha yes the car trumps the vespa not least because of the hair situation! I'll try and get a snap on the weekend to show you - looking out for a basket for the front to put my bouquet in yay! Going to be rebels and not have helmets but it is only about 200 metres so should be alright I reckon!

Oh, fantastic! Love it! I'm going to have my bike outside the church with flowers in the basket too :) but won't be riding it anywhere! :rotfl:

Can't wait to see pics of your tandem, was it expensive? xx

No it was £113 we won it for. More expensive than walking but cooler too!
