FutureCooper wrote: »Hi Wanchai -i'm a fellow July bride from the other forum, can i put my two pence in?!!!!! - Have you thought of asking WXY on the other forum. She is making her own wedding dress and has a blog spot sheposts on to with photos of how it is coming together. I am sure she could advise you as to how many hours work a dress is and also the costs of fabrics etc. That will give you a heads up as to how much having cost is involved in making the dress.
Good luck with the seamstress, keep us posted!
Your dress dilemma has kept me entertained and amused for a while now, I feel lucky to have walked in to a bridal shop and said i would like non bridal, grecian style to fit a fatty and then came out with a completly different dress altogether. It couldn't be anymore bridal!!!
That is such a fab idea, will do!!! :T
Glad I am entertaining you :rotfl: So what dress did you end up with? PM me if you don't want to say on here. I lurve Grecian style dresses too btw, they are lush xxx7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs

I do hope so. It is a real step into the unknown though, getting a dress made! I am a bit scared!
OK, I so need to get a move on with weddingy things - people keep reminding me that 'after Christmas it will be no time till July'!! So I have ordered my BM two gifts - a keepsake which I can't mention on here in case she's reading (OK I'm paranoid) and a gorgeous bracelet. So that's that done! I'll leave OH to sort out the best man's gift, but I may make some suggestions as he is useless tbh :rotfl:
I have expanded my wedding lists to include 'gifts for guests', 'props for the wedding day' (i.e. little things that I want to incorporate or have photographed, even in the house), 'ideas' (so that I don't forget all the little details I am thinking of right now), and 'supplier list'.
Feeling better already

I have a book dedicated to the wedding. The back has lists of guests, addresses etc and the front has ideas and 'to do' pages. I love buying little books, particularly from Paperchase. Good job there isn't one near!

I love books for this sort of thing too, but always worry that I will run out of space! :rotfl:7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs

No, I mean that I might dedicate page 1 to the guest list and page 2 to the budget, then run out of space for my guest list after page 1!!! Eeek!!! :rotfl:7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs

That isn't too bad! We are having 60ish in the day and 100 at night. I would have preferred to have everone the whole time but really couldn't afford it. I was also tempted to just have family (would have brought day guests down to about 40) during day and really gone to town with what we did, bt OH wanted some friends there. I guess it is his wedding too....
Bet you are excited about meeting her. I walked past a material shop yesterday which had the cutest dress in the window and thought about you!
