Esmf well.done to OH, big changes ahead for you and yours.

Beth glad to hear yesterday's test were clear, have a lovely weekend and positi e vibes for Monday.

Bramble I will pm you my mobile number, I can manage tomorrow, will need to bring the brats though, but they can amuse themselves for an hour. ;)

Hugs to everyone else. Wolfy, hope you're OK.

Day off today, I have a meeting with DS1's tutor to discuss his personal learning plan. Not sure exactly what this will entail, bit I guess I will find out soon enough. Then I am off to Ikea with my sisters to get drawers for the boys and a shoes cabinet for the hall. Will need to be careful about what I am spending though, its easy to lose control in there!:rotfl:

Hope you all have a great day.

Morning folks. A rainy start to the day here.
Beth - so pleased for you re your scan. Have a lovely weekend away!
Redruby - it's so hard making these decisions but hope you all get good guidance and advice next week.
nmlc - isn't it great when kids enjoy college and are set for the new challenges? makes our lives easier! Our youngest, my DSS17(as in years not the 17th one!) is in upper 6th now so it will be all changes for him after next summer. DD starts again today for her 3rd and final yr as student nurse. She loves it - just hope there is a job for her at the end of the year!
Kitchen is in s sorry state as DH finished early at work yesterday so we went out for the afternoon which included having a couple of drinks, then home and I cooked tea and left everything afterwards, so there is everything in there from plates etc to a wok and 'stuff'. Will have this coffee then tackle it. I have got into the habit of clearing and tidying in the evening and it's not nice to see it this morning!
Tea is a rummage around the fridge. There's half a pack of tofu as I had a stiry fry for my tea last night (heated up a pizza for non-stirfry-lover DH) and some gammon so I'll make up a couple of quick things. I also have 2 cauliflowers as Te$co had them BOGOF (also broc) so need to begin to use them too.
Have been dipping into the flylady thread to keep motivated and organised. It certainly helps.
Ok - off to start on that kitchen. DH has a day off and the rugby is on now!
Have a good day all. Get that packing done Beth!

  • Need some help:o...sorry in advance for tmi

Did any of you "older" ladies start having period problems and changes after you were 40? Over the last year or so my cycle is changing and sometimes it is every 3 weeks, sometimes 4, sometimes 2! But this time it was 4 week but have only been on for a day and it has completely gone:eek:. Have started panicking now incase I am pregnant and it was an implantation bleed:o. Have been sat crying all morning as the thought of it is terrifying. Maybe it is just pre menopausal stuff messing with my cycle....am 41 so I guess it could be. To scared to do test incase a line appears and sends me into a panic.
Got to take cat to vet again this morning.....she hasnt had the runs since but then she has had them again this morning! Lord knows how I will get her in the cat basket, she scratches and splays her legs so you cant force her in:o
Has been such an expensive few weeks with her and the car and DH and his tooth abcess;)
Got house to clean too but not in right frame of mind...will have to force myself.
sorry for such a miserable post:(
  • Good morning :)

NPM - my cycle went all over the place but go and do the test (its better to know for certain than to drive yourself mad wondering). Hugs and sympathy cos its a horrible feeling.

I have been laid out with a wretched cold so have done the bare minimum but I'm feeling like I might just live today so ....

I shall get the washing machine on and a loaf in the BM - then just need to tidy round properly for the weekend.

  • Morning,

I haven't been around for the best part of 5 months, it's nice to see some of the old faces still around, and plenty of new ones!

Last time I was around I had told everyone that my DH and I has suffered the loss of our 3rd baby (all at 5 weeks and 3 days). After the 2nd Loss we had undergone fertility tests and was diagnosed with PCOS (which is why I struggled to concieve), as I didn't ovulate from my right overy.

With the help of the lovely ladies on here I was pointed towards low carbing as a possible treatment, which after research lead me to realise I had Insulin Resistance (which causes blood clots in the placenta as it attaches) and after diagnosis by the fertility clinic, I told them that Low Gi would help Insulin Resistance, and the Dr agreed (would have been nice if they had told me!) so started Low Gi on 11th Feb (I wonder if Julie67 is still doing it too???).

March 26th I miscarried my third baby, and was very disheartened...! However the Low Gi had leveled out my mood swings, and I was loosing a lot of weight and I had more energy, and my migraines had calmed down big time, so I decided to stick to it for the 3-6 months recommended.

Anyway, my OH and I decided we didn't want to try for a baby for a while, but as I don't ovulate from the right side we just didn't do anything... Well to our amazment I missed a period that month, and I figured it was just late... at 5 weeks and 4 days pregnant I got a positive pregnancy test! To our utter amazment the Low Gi had helped the PCOS and for the first time in YEARS I ovulated from my right overy!!! AND we were passed the stage where I loose my babies (I always bled from 5 weeks). So anyway after scans at 6 weeks and 8 weeks it seemed I was pregnant :)

But at 7 weeks I got sick, really REALLY sick... which is my excuse for not being around. I lost 2 stone, and have had just the most horrific morning sickness, I got severly dehydrated, which caused low blood pressure, which causes fainting... and the lack of blood flowing to my brain caused vertigo and eye problems. I couldn't eat or drink properly, no TV, reading, computers. I had to give up work because I couldn't cope. Even my DS9 would hug me and the movement caused me to be poorly!

Worst part... trying to stay Low Gi while poorly! Oh boy! I was also on 70g carbs... but when your poorly only (low gi) bread is your friend...!

Anyway, the morning sickness started to ease at 16 weeks, by 19 weeks I started eating real food again. Now at nearly 23 weeks I am finally back online!! I still can't eat huge amounts, and smells still make me poorly, I have low blood pressure but it seems to be easier to control when you don't have morning sickness (which fully left at 21 weeks, just as the heartburn started... oh joy!!)

So I have to apologise for being AWOL for so long, I can't believe it's been about 18 weeks since i've been on here... back then I was sure I wouldn't make it to 13 weeks pregnant... and now my baby has a 20-35% chance of living already (90% by 27 weeks!!) after all the heartache and the support you all gave me I am here smiling :)
We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy!

  • Thats lovely news:j

I had horrific sickness constantly for 9 months with DS and it makes you feel awful....i also fainted everywhere...the staff at the co op used to have looks of panic on their faces whenever I went in as I almost always fainted lol.
Hope you feel better for the rest of the pregnancy:D
    xx
