Moove Insurance - anyone had any experience?

Hi. Got called earlier by Moove Insurance to beat my Building & Contents home insurance. Checked their website which is FSA regulated. They seem to check out but am now having doubts. Has anyone had any experience of them? Very new company but I can't find much else. They beat my current insurance and I agreed to go with them. Apparently I am now insured by Lloyds. Hope someone can put my mind at ease. Thanks.

  • I personally would be concerned buying from a private individual (Harjit Moore) who is selling insurance. They are only an appointed representative of another company and so they themselves are not FSA vetted. The other company has a list of private individuals as appointed representatives which would also concern me but they themselves are fully authorised and so accept the liability of their Appointed Representatives.

All that said, the branding itself is enough to put me off!
  • hi there,
Now ive been insured with move insurance for over 3 months now
and at first i was not sure about making the change due to them cold calling me, and also not heard of them before.
Then after searching on all the comparison websites i was struggling to get anywhere near there price.
I did my research on them and quite liked there website and every one has to start some where....

  • Hi there I had a call from this brooker las evening. They seemed ok and are sending out the details of the insurance in the post. They only took bank details for DD which I can always cancel. Was surprised when there was no charges for their service in all this which is what makes me a bit wary. If anyone gets any further info on them I would be grateful, although 2 months free insurance and cheaper than I can find on any site sounds good to me.

Be wary, these people rung me, and gave me a quote which sounded good, i asked for them to confirm in the post, and the next thing I got was someone from a Cardiff company asking me to pay the premium. Then got home today and a credit agreement had been setup with premium credit, bearing in mind I only asked for confirmation of the quote as I was still shopping around, they had already gone and set it up.

Although I got it all cancelled, I'm concerned as they had setup a credit agreement to pay monthly that will now show on my credit file

A little dodgy if you ask me, won't be using them again, or going anywhere near a one man band.

I wouldn't touch them with a very very long bargepole.

    Suite 12?

Above mentioned the name as Harjit Moore, So not a shock to find a glowing recommendation from K Moore?

I think there has been a BIG increase in insurance scams since the prices shot up.

Personally i would check if you really are insured and what information they actually gave to get you a lower quote.

    To Inside Insurance.

Hello there. Just a quick query about the above listing earlier in this thread.

I just wondered why being an appointed representative of another (FSA authorised) company was of concern? This seems to be a common set up nowadays.

    Thanks

Odd coincidence that the two glowing reviews on their website are both for people living in Bradford, one of them sharing the same surname as the boss. Kulwant Moore is listed as living at the same address as Harjit Moore [text removed by MSE Forum Team]

Call it a lucky guess, but I suspect Gemma White is an employee or works for the web designer.

I hope (As I suspect) they're not connected to the company as this is a specific breach of the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Practices under rule 18.

If it is I suggest you remove them as your local Trading Standards Office won't be impressed if someone makes a complaint.

If you have any questions at all, regarding our company
Your terms and conditions show you as being authorised and regulated by FSA (No 313562). Your website says you are an appointed representative of another.

It also mentions Moove Insurance Company Limited which I can't see at companies house.

    Can you clarify?
