Your terms and conditions show you as being authorised and regulated by FSA (No 313562). Your website says you are an appointed representative of another.

It also mentions Moove Insurance Company Limited which I can't see at companies house.

    Can you clarify?

    It shows number 557389 now.

    They missed a trick here...

"Here at Moove Insurance we believe that our personal account managers (PAM) ensures that our customers are happy with the service they receive. We promise not to pass you from pillar to post and we will provide you with your very own account manager to make sure the process runs smoothly."

Surely going with the theme of the website, it should be Personal Account Technician (PAT)

Weird showing two FSA numbers, these companies should be taking responsibility for ensuring mooves compliance.

The T&Cs seem to be missing something, perhaps magpiecottage could cast an eye.

The attention to detail seems to extend to the web designer who is not properly registered on nominet.

Bit of a buulls up all round

Its T&C of the website rather than Terms of Business. Governing law is clearly important though.

Back in the early 90s worked for a mail order catalog company and the back cover always used to say that if you just wanted to pay your bill then "call PAT" - small print under saying PAT was Personalised Automated Telephony.

Unfortunately a lot of old dears used to call saying they'd try to call Pat but just kept getting this bloody machine talking to them :rotfl:

A long time ago, we used to do a lot of overseas motor insurance with the then Norwich Union.

Not long after they outsourced their claims service to India and there were the inevitable teething problems.

One of our clients had an accident with a foreign driver / vehicle which are never the easiest to sort out. We got passed around the houses and eventually spoke to one of our UK contacts who advised us they had an office to deal with these claims which they called "Johnny Foreigner" typical British humour. We rang India back and explained to them to they needed to transfer the claim file to Johnny Foreigner dept back at Norwich HQ. We had a call from India the next day, they had spent 4 hours looking for a member of staff at Aviva called Jonny Foreigner.

Yeah, they do have a tendency to take this a little too literally and not realise whats been said in jest.

Had a similar case where a client hadn't outsourced but did have an offshore IT development team which it had relatively recently expanded into doing its insurance programming in addition to its banking.

The UK BA wrote the business requirements document to make some changes to the Motor product including allowing people to use their business or motorbike NCD on their car policy. Not sure exactly why but the BA decided to use the marketing slogan about "if you've decided to hang up your helmet you can now use your bike NCD on your car" (I am sure it was actually more snappy but the idea is there).

So the BRD was handed to the IT team in India and their first task was to write a technical specification - basically how they will meet the listed requirements from a technology view point. All was going well, got some early drafts for some of the sections and all looked good. I did then get a call at 8:01 in the morning from a very concerned sounding Technical Analyst saying they'd been working on it all night but they still hadn't come up with a solution to ensure the person had hung their helmet up, and what did we want to do if the person had sold their helmet instead :)

If anymore of the Moove employees or friends of the staff register to post false praise of Moove Insurance. I will be reporting you to Bradford Trading Standards for a breach of the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations under a breach of this part of the law.

    "18. A wolf in sheep’s clothing
Falsely claiming or creating the impression that the
trader is not acting for purposes relating to his/her trade,
business, craft or profession, or falsely representing
    oneself as a consumer."

If you're not clever enough to understand, that means a business or their associates cannot pretend to be a satisfied customer on review sites / forums. I strongly recommend you stop doing this as you don't want your local Trading Standards checking your around your business. Especially with the moody "review" from the owners wife on your website saying how pleased she is with Moove.

I would recommend that people give moove insurance a miss until they can get the basics of their business correct eg they show different FSA registration numbers, have a glowing review on their website from the owners wife Kulwant Moore and resort to posting spam reviews on MSE.

Not the sort of company I would want to deal with...
