  • Hi AH :)

I hope the car is ok when it goes in, mine is in tomorrow and i'm praying there is nothing too badly wrong with it as it is making strange clicking noises when turning

oh and p.s can i borrow your husband, :D i have a few rooms need cleaning :rotfl:

  • ARGH I'm really annoyed. I forgot that paying little woods had moved to hubbies payday and not mine (with it being every 4 weeks) and it was due on Friday. Grrr, that means a £12 late payment charge. I might log onto the account and see if it's been applied or if I can get away with paying it now and not get charged.

Also our shower has packed up, after nearly 10 years it was old, but why die in January? We've got enough this month, MOT and service at the end of the month (paid for unless anything is wrong - which I hope not) car tax, DD's birthday and a trip to a panto (hotel paid for on a £12 deal) but need fuel etc.

Oh and the small amount we have in the bank now to last us til friday also has to give us fuel to a funeral on Thursday. :(

I hope I get a nice big pay packet on Friday to get us on the straight and narrow again.

  • Well hubby phoned little woods and after 30 minutes on hold gave up - so we figured if we weren't going to get the charges dropped we may as well earn them and put off this months payment to make things easier. :rotfl: I'm about to pay it now as our PPI cheque from barclays has cleared today and we're using it to get little woods back to rights plus clear Studio cards from Christmas so we don't get interest on that. At least then I feel like we've done something with it.

Now if Lloyds would actually send our cheque out that would be the credit card cleared and I'd feel like we were making headway. I've not spend anything on the CC at all this year and haven't found the need to either, so the other depts will go down nicely if we can get that clear and throw more at the others.

He also phoned HFC and got our overpayments made into a capital reduction on the plus side their calculations of the total are less than mine. :D So a couple more months and that will be gone. Hitachi is only due to run until October anyway so I know thats a few that will definitely be gone this year, once they start dropping it will be like flys in our house.

I can't wait to move paper work from the 'current agreements' file to the 'settled file'

As for keeping out of this situation next christmas my Amazon stash is mounting up nicely. We used some for DD3's birthday beginning of this week and I admit I did treat myself to a case for my phone but I've got just under £35 in there now and at least £75-£85 of vouchers due without doing anymore surveys (which of course i will).

I've got a right little routine with my sites now, from ones I log into each day to get points/watch videos plus ones with a few more surveys for me to do than others I expect lots of earnings. :T

  • Any chance I could get some advice in regards to Littlewoods and the 3 debt collectors that have followed them? My nan recieved a letter today stating that she owes nearly £400 to 'Arrow Global' when we called the company they said this is for a debt that she knows nothing about and it also is from 10 years ago. This letter is the only correspondance she has recieved from any of the companys regarding this debt. I have used the SB template and my nan is planning on sending the letter on Monday but I need to know if this will be enough?
(Sorry if I shouldn't have posted this here but I'm new to this forum and couldn't find anywhere to start a new post :-S)

Hi jessie, if you scroll up where the screen says forum help,, etiquette, 'important', forum rules ETC, above that it says debt free diaries and if you click on the debt-free wannabe link there will be a button on there to press that says new thread. put it on there and people will be able to advise. I'm sorry i don't really know the answer otherwise i would have saved you the trouble :) dfw

The SB letter should be enough, if it's a debt that she's not paid in at least 6 years then yes. Has she checked her credit report? If it's not on there then that will confirm the 6 year thing too.
