They have changed the wording on the website now too say:
As part of our ongoing programme to make our online service easier to use and even more secure, we are currently carrying out some upgrades to our banking systems.
Online applications are therefore currently not available for these accounts. You will be able to apply online from Monday 12th September.
We're sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience while we upgrade our service.
So maybe the accounts are not changing after all and it was just a wording error *rolls eyes*
But HBOS has now changed too:
We are currently updating our account range so these accounts are no longer available for new applications.
Our refreshed account range will be available from Monday 12th of September. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
Typical, and here was me getting all excited about their new account range!!:rotfl:
Edit - Theyre trying to keep us on our toes!Debt free and staying that way! :beer:0 -
I have already outlined the changes;
Both brands are getting new savings accounts across the board.
Halifax bank accounts will be staying the same as they are.
Bank of Scotland bank accounts will all be changing to mirror lloyds accounts(almost exactly).
No existing accounts will be moved to the new products(unless you ask to move them after Monday).
There is also going to be more brand separation. For example, in telephone banking, there are two separate numbers for BOS and HFX that need to be used for the separate brands(to some degree).100% G33K:D:D:D:D

Yes they will be able to use either website, but can only apply for HFX accounts via the HFX website etc. The same applies for phone and branch channels.Its a bummer the halifax detailed incorrect info on there website stating the accounts was changing.

What would happen in a case where someone had a LPD code 99 or whatever with Lloyds (no longer a customer though), that now banks with halifax or bos? would this old lloyds 'internal' marker affect their now full hbos accounts?0
