G'luck all, as for me I'm going to sleep now, been up all night listening to music so quite tired, might get up later and do some studying but then again I might just leave it till the weekend - um did someone mention procrastinating?Know me for who I am, not for who I say I am.0

I am sooo glad I went though - today at least, I have found it to be true that you know more than you think you do!
Good luck to you all with your exams... and... how about we try and do better next term?
Possible???
Or will we be writing the same comments on here come May, just slightly re-phrased?!

That's what I always find - the reality of essays and exams is never as bad as you think. I am the worst procrastinator I know - I will do anything to avoid that sinking feeling of sitting there with the essay question in front of you, but sod all to writeBut once i've avoided it for days, thought about it a lot (actually done nothing but worry about it), I suddenly find it in me to write like a lunatic and get it all done quite quickly - maybe i'm some kind of sadist adrenaline junkie? It seems like I can't work without the pressure of knowing it has to be in in a few hours time. In fact, I don't think i've ever written an essay with more than 2 days to spare before the deadline! I really wish I could be one of those organised peope who gets into it as soon as I get the assignment, but I can't. Even at school, I was always one to do what I wanted to do now, and worry about the necessary stuff like homework/coursework later! I always got reasonably good grades at school, and still do now, but I reckon I could do so much better if I didn't have to work like this - I NEED HELP!!!

Make a big spider diagram - I stuck together four pieces of A4 for a big sheet. Write everything on there and then perhaps condense it onto a spider diagram on 1 A4 sheet.
I heard that when learning things you should learn, then try and remember and learn it it say so many minutes later, then so many hours, then days, if you keep doing it then you should remember it.
If reading things highlight key points then when finished go back through it and note down those key points.
Try using work assosiation or whatever it is called to remember things. For example if you have to remember there was a fire in June, then you could imagime a number 6 on fire in your head because 6 is the number of June.
Hope those help a little!Student MoneySaving Club member 017!0 -

This is the only way i remember things, i used to really struggle revising but now i have found this way, i go into an exam room and just picture my diagram and it all flows back to me.
Best of luck0 -

I wish that had happened to me today... unfortunately out of eight questions, I could only answer one properly (we had to choose two) so yeah... I only need 26 overall on the exam to pass though as my presentation was worth 67.
ANYWAY. Finally I can jump for joy because... IT'S ALL OVER!!! And I have 11 days off (though I should be reading next semester's material).
So long, until... My next essay deadline0 -
argh where to start. I made crape choices and ended up in a rubbish uni!
I found yr one and two very hard. I am currently retaking some modules from year 2 and start 3 in febuary. I have exams at momment and really cant be bothered i know I have chance which im messing up but I just dont care any more just want to get a job and earn..
I dunno sick of this whole situation esspecially when it comes to exams! ok only 1 more year.. only one more!0 -
Ah, scorpio, glad to see someone with the same err, issue s me. I always get the coursework, read through it and make mental plan of what I'm going to do each day, nicely structured and basically the ideal students schedule that would let me have a life but study at the same time. Ha, I've done three out of my four courseworks this year with less than 36 hours to go. and those doing computing like me know how obsenely hard that is to accomplish. Management wasn't o bad, I loved the subject, people have said I'm a good debater, and putting together a 10 page argudement was never a problem.
Panda, each person has their own way of doing things. For example, I never do any revision less than six hours before the exam - if I'm not going to know it before then I never will, and trying to cram whilst trying to get all my stuff together, transport sorted, etc is just going to get me stressed, and I might end up forgetting important things like ID, power supply for the laptop, etc, which could result in my not being to take the exam altogether.
I usually go for studying each topic a bit at a time. our lecture notes published on the web have each slide with bullet points, I find it easier to just remember the bullets and then the expanded info comes to me, rather than trying to remember big blocks of stuff. If it's facts and figures, attach some story or event to them. If it's programming, build yourself a mental project where you would actually use those programming skills/techniques/codes - something that you would enjoy doing, it'll help motivate you. If it's facts/legislation for an informational subject such as management or law, put yourself in a mental position where you could use that info - for example, I picture my own business, international scale, and I have scenarios where I would use that information that I have learned. that was for management. For law, I'd picture myself as a lawyer, mentally build myself some cases around the stuff I'm studying.
It always helps if you can 'see' what you're learning in the context of the physical world. Its one of the things I hate about some lecturers, they pound all this info into your skull, but you can never think of a time/place later where you'll need it, so there's no drive to work at learning it.
Hope that helps, and sorry for going on - can you tell I've given this spiel many times before lol?Know me for who I am, not for who I say I am.0
