Did you use disposable or washable nappies?

Because the ones without the hip snaps can suffer from what is know as wing droop, the edges of the nappy can curl up and increase wicking when the inner fleece touches clothing and the front snaps dont cross over so probably wouldnt fit a baby less than 14lbs.

They are good nappies, I have lots of them but there a few minor issues which have been solved by hip snaps.Little Person Number 4 Due March 2012

Thanks - so I take itthe popper ones I linked to vary in design and though they have poppers, they are not proper hip ones so in the long run may not work out as well due to the curling up?

The extra snaps just hold it all in place a bit better that one row.
There are lots of threads about ebay cheapies here http://www.babyandbump.com/natural-parenting/

Thanks RavenLady those links are most helpful - also made me aware that the microfibre inserts aren't great on their own so I will be looking at getting some bamboo and maybe hemp ones too. At night I have him in disposables but wanted to find a washable solution, so maybe bamboo and hemp will work once I have bought a few more nappies.
Is that company the only company doing the hip snap variety - I can't seem to find any other that look the same on ebay, wanted to save a little more but hey ho.:):)

Im not sure if they are the only ones doing them, i've been banned from looking as my finger slips sometimes. If you want to buy from a uk seller rather than a chinese seller join tinynippers on fb, they are the cheapest uk seller I know that sell all the equipment and pocket styles you can get on ebay and sometimes do a 10% off offer, they have bamboo inserts too but i've not tried them.
If your handy with a machine you can buy hemp and bamboo fabric from ebay.Little Person Number 4 Due March 2012

Ha ha I know what you mean - so many to look at and get tempted by!
I think what I am finding confusing is how to know which nappies have hip snaps and which don't. The Tiny Nippers site at least tells you with a 'HS' code but on ebay most auctions don't say...
I am terrible at sewing so no chance, sadly! Or should I just buy some and cut them up, would prob be a disaster...:):)

With ebay its a case of trawling through all the listings, give you a head ache after a while.Little Person Number 4 Due March 2012

Cheers, in that case quite a few have been, shame! Lots say HS but look like single row ones. The only real HS ones seem to be the one colour ones.
