Those using Ebay cheapies, can anyone recommend a particular seller, or more importantly, are there any that are no good? Now I've looked, they're so much cheaper than the branded ones, but I don't want to buy ones that aren't up to the job!
What about Thenappyco ones? I like that they ship from the UK rather than abroad.0 -
i used washables - with dd pocket nappies mainly - pocket tots, bum genius and wonderoos, with ds I used terries and velcro on wraps as there wasn't nearly so much choice (13 years ago).People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

97kgallery is a uk seller but if you order from china direct you will probably get the same nappies.
There are 4 distinct brands of ebay cheapies

Hi all,
I just wanted to say thanks for the info on this thread, it's been really helpful.
Wanted to add another link - I bought this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Reuseable-Minky-Cotton-Pocket-Nappy-2x3-layer-inserts-/290603120671?pt=UK_Baby_Baby_Changing_Nappies_LE&var=&hash=item8960359790
They give you the nappy but also 2 inserts, and given most sellers sell the inserts for £1 ish each, it means this nappy is £2. Feels good quality and lots of selection so I will buy some more as I want these for my son at night-time. We will use disposies when out and about etc this way.:):)

can i ask a comment/question.
I brought washables and used them at about 4-6 weeks. Gave up and went disposable. Heres the thing. I knew there would get poo on them but i never realised how liquidy babys poo is. it just put me off them. Now i cant afford to buy some more as i sold mine. I only have 4 left lol dont think i could cope on that lol. Also even though i got BTP nappies they always seemed tight round her legs.
Did you have any issues with washables and if so how did you overcome them?Baby Girl Born May 2011Baby Boy Born Nov 2012

Hi Alamaya, currently I am using prefolds with a wrap, some cut up fleece (from the £1 store) so that the poo can at least attempt to to be flushed.
I will then use the birth to potty ones £3.99 shown above I think. I can't offer much more advice as am a first time mum but I want to save money, and at the price of disposables refuse to not go down without a fight! I know that for his first 6 months the poo etc will be manageable compared to when he goes onto solids, so for now want to use washables whilst I don't need a peg on my nose ha ha...:):)

Maybe they aren't for the squeamish. My baby had soft poo as well and anything not caught by the liner, I just rinsed off in the sink and popped the nappy in the bucket. I have just retired all mine waiting for the next one, and they are all pristine white. In fact a disposie using friend was round as I brought them in off the line and couldnt believe they had been in use for nearly 2 years.
My bubs is a skinny minnie, so nothing has ever been tight on him in his life. My problem is getting things to be tight enough!0 -
Hi Nicki I bought some paper liners but they seem useless - they desintegrate because of the wee! Is there a brand you recommend?
For now I cut up a £1 store fleece and the fleece liners are working well.
Does anyone have experience of the cheapie washable pocket nappies like ones similar to the link i posted above? Just wondering whether to plump for 10 of them.:):)

These are currently my favourites, they're pretty new to the market and they have hip snaps which give a better fit all round.

Thanks Ravenlady - those you link to are the popper style, working out at £3.40 each with 1 insert.
The link I posted also offers the popper style with more selection re: colours/patterns, at £3.99 each with 2 inserts, or less if more than 1 is bought (around £3.70ish each if buying 10), also shipped from UK.
Is there a reason the ones you linked to are better - ie: is it a better material for example, or maybe a more reputable brand?
I'd hate for my money to be spent in the wrong place if these you mention are better than the ones I was planning on getting.:):)
