Help with baby girls names

  • Grace is lovely. With a twin I do wonder if the second will get the nickname ''favour'' whatever you call her.

Personally, I'd go for a nother ''characteristic'' name, both slightly old fashioned but pretty. I love Honor, Charity is pretty, Hope is quite popular.

I hadn't even thought of that, good point. Choosing names is a minefield isn't it. Think its time for a baby names book and a pin.

Am loving this idea. Going to show this thread to dh when he gets in from work.

Nope haven't even thought of middle names yet. We are having enough arguments over deciding their first names. Think if I threw having to come up with middle names into the mix dh would turn grey.

There is one poster on here though called Poppy Olivia which I think is a gorgeous name.

Poppy was the other name on our final 2 - for weeks after I was convinced we should have called her Poppy and thought we had given her the 'wrong' name!! Still love it.

It is. What about flower middle names....e.g.

Grace Poppy (olivia) Make me wise and Honor Rose (Darcey) Make me wise?

The nice thing with a ''theme'' is that they get ''twin'' names with some individuality unlike...Grace and Gertie for example.

I think Grace is a pretty name. I do know a Grace though who is so far from being graceful that it seems a bit unfortunate for her, so that would be my reservation.

Constance goes well with Grace I think (much in the spirit of Hope, Charity, Faith etc).

I like it too, it's one of my daughter's middle names, after my maternal grandmother :D

  • Grace and Evangeline would become Gracie & Angie I guess

If I rememebr from your previous posts you have italian family don't you? Violetta is lovely - Another on my list was Florence (the City my Italian family came from). I always thought I would be much more exotic and interesting if my family had given me an Italian name - Sophia was shortlisted but I got Rachel like 4 others in my class!!

Oh another good trad name isMatilda - tilly for short! Tilly and gracie?
