well today has not been very money saving.
found out college has taken too much out of my account for my fees. the office doesnt accept phone calls...so sent email and so far have heard nothing. :(
then the course pack turned up. I need to get a text book to complete the course. Its only £53!! some copies are available in the library apparently. but thats not handy for me..that was the whole point of doing a distance learning course ;) not sure how many will be doing the course and if there will be enough copies to go round. so in the end I bought the book..hopefully I will be able to sell it on after the course. will keep it good! ;) there was only one copy available at Amazon so I had to decide just to go for it.

at least DS football has just been cancelled due to the weather. was dreading going out tonight.

Had a real struggle at tea with ds1/ds2, ds1 hates tatties, we had mashers tonight so made him eat half of them, he managed that, he had his angry face on:rotfl: he was 15 mins late for his insulin though:mad:

Thanks grannybroon and Queenie, I think the same aswell, I have suggested he maybe asks his Dad about when and where it'll be and go from there. She did live up here almost all her life then recently moved to be closer to another daughter who could care for her full time, much further down the country, so I am really unsure where it will be. He said he would feel out of place but as far as she was concerned he was family, and so were our boys. I've spoken to him a couple of times on the phone since he went to work, he's not eaten properly since he found out and says I don't know why I am not hungry, I think it's upset him more than he realises/thought it would. I would go myself but only if it's up here, can't get the children looked after to go there. She was a part of our lives, blood related or not.

Kethry the holiday sounds great, babies are lovely but I don't think I could have any more myself, don't mind other peoples of course. Bargains sound fab aswell :)
One day I might be more organised...........

  • Evening all not managed to post for a couple of days, am suffering from a flu like bug and have been looking after friends child. My friends mum has been depressed for a long time now and has talked about suicide for a while although not recently. Unfortunately we found her to be missing last night and received the news we had been dreading today at lunch time. Certainly makes you stop and think. Not sure how much I'll be online in the next few days need to be there for friend and her family as much as possible.

Oh froggergirl, sorry to hear that, thoughts are with you and your friend and her family at this time, so sad when someone takes their own life. We'll still be here when you're ready to come back, take all the time you need.

Hi all. Don't usually post, but GF is running late, so I have some time to kill. Windy weather today. This affects me more than most, since I drive around for my job, and live by the Dartford Bridge. I need to know whether the bridge is open in order to know if I can get home on time.
Only purchase today was a Bluetooth headset, to replace the one my GF got me that I lost. I need it for my job, and hate wearing it around the shops. Was tempted by Subway, but resisted, and survived on the Penguins I got from Co op yesterday (on yellow label.)
Also paid out for car parking, but thats on expenses, so I will get it back.
Dinner is some homemade fish cakes from the freezer, plus some roast tomatoes I got from Tesco Yellow Label the other day. Could have been a cheaper day, but better the hands free kit, than three points on the licence

lil-me Be gentle with him - his thoughts and feelings will be all over the place. Don't push - which I know you won't. He might even provoke a wee argument over the next few days - but that is grief. Try and go with the flow. My best friends MIL moved from Scotland to Kent when her DH died. Only one son, she has cancer (81) and they couldn't go down as planned over the festive period as flu up here and chemo down there! If anything happens before they get down - a bigggggg prob!
