  • After calling o2/cpw today they also gave me the following address, to send my written 30 days notice to disconnect.

    Carphonewarehouse
    PO Box 4316
    Dunstable
    LU5 5WG

thing is this address is not recognised on the royal mail postcode checker thingy... so as a precation i've sent a recorded disconnection letter to both that address and the portal way address. hopefully that should cover it.

Will phone next week and continuously pester them if they say ""they havent received it".

Just a note to anyone else going through this, you need to get a disconnect reference, call cpw on 0800 0490049 rather than their 0870 number.
    ummm...
  • i previously had a contract with them, the guy in their store sorted the next phone out for me too, the address was portal way for disconnections, and it really does NEED to be sent by recorded delivery (from cpw salesmans mouth) and its also best to ring a day or so later to let them know and confirm it, or they could try and drag it out!:o

  • I sent my disconnection letter by normal post, to the portal way address earlier this week, and read this today and started to worry!....so i just called on the above 0800 number, to confirm they had received it.
They had received, and my disconnection date was set up and ready. :)

well seems like it worked, just took a call from o2 confirming the disconnection had been actioned.

Just so you know I called, got a DRN (Disconnection Reference Number), followed up with two written letters one sent to the address they gave me and one to the portal way address (sent recorded of course) and also an email to the cpw/o2 customer service email customerserviceo2@cpwplc.com

they offered me a contination of my line (400 off peak mins) for free (but they didnt mention the 99p itemised billing cost) and no phone. I turned it down as i'd rather get another 1000 off peak line with free phone
    ummm...
  • ahhh - its good to know I am not alone in being disgusted by 02 at CPW :D

My contract is up in June, and if I had any cheap way of getting out of it sooner I would.

Totally, totally useless, and I will (if staying with 02 or even stayin on a contract and not using a genie card or something this year) be using an online tarrif as they appear to be pretty good VFM
I have no more money to give - all you companies out there - do your worst - I give in!! :(
