Going to cancel o2/cpw line, is this the only way?
I have 2 o2 1000 off peak lines that are up for renewal in feb. So I want to cancel them and after calling o2/cpw and turning down their offers they gave me the following address, to send my written 30 days notice confirmation to disconnect:
Carphonewarehouse
PO Box 4316
Dunstable
LU5 5WG
Has anyone written to this address or been given different addresses? I found another thread with two different addresses.. so I'm wondering if they are giving out false addresses delebrately?

Just phoned them, and they said they haven't received the letter (posted on 4th)...
Though said they didn't need it as they had a disconnection date of the 7th Feb on the system? Make of that what you will. Reckon they must have received it....0 -
i've just phoned to confirm and they've told me the same address as before. I think I might just sent to more than one address.ummm...0

I have just phoned after being told the address the original poster said to be told it is the wrong address- apparently it should be Portal way (or so they say)
So it appears their minds change depending on to whom you speak to!
So much for them being a relaible player in the market!
looks like i will have to phone again later to check on what notes are on the system under my account (I am currently on hold whilst they are checking their systems! -They now claim that they have no record of providing me a disconnection number.)
Bl**dy liars- I have asked for a transcript of the call i made on the 3rd January to notify them that i wished to disconnect.Mark Hughes' blue and white army0 -

This is the email i had back from them, after asking to disconnect by email.Dear Mr xxxxxx,
Thank you for your email, which we received on 6th January 2007. I appreciate your patience in awaiting a reply.
I am sorry to hear that you wish to end your contract with O2 and The Carphone Warehouse.
We cannot accept disconnection notice by email/phone, this must be a written signed cancellation in order to comply with the Data protection Act.
To start the disconnection process, please contact our Customer Loyalty Team 0870 087 0168 and choosing option 3 to discuss the possible upgrade offers available to you or to obtain your Disconnection Reference Number (DRN).
Our offices are open:
Monday - Friday: 8.00am - 8.00pm
Saturday: 9.00am - 6.00pm
Sunday & Bank Holidays: 10.00am - 5.00pm
If you still choose to disconnect after you have spoken to our Loyalty Team you will be issued a DRN. Once you have this you will be required to send us 30 days written notice as per the terms and conditions of your contract, including your DRN in the letter.
I would advise you to send your letter via recorded delivery, as proof of postage may be required.

If you have e-billing with O2 CPW, then cancellation notices CAN be delivered by email. Its in the standard terms and conditions.
Email it to escalations@cpw.co.uk and O2cs@cpw.co.uk
Otherwise, I would suggest you still email and tell them of your difficulties.
Also, send it by recorded mail as noted above.
